Anyone know if you move to another country...

I have a felony on my record for theft....was thinking Costa Rica!

 Then again, there's Mexico. Who said anything about moving there legally, right?

Why don't you stay put and clean up your act?

Here is why it's so hard to give people second chances.....let's say ABC company decides to give you a chance knowing your record.  You re-lapse and end up stealing a bunch of money from the company.  Suddenly the person who approved hiring you has their job on the line.  It's called negligent hiring and it can be mucho serious.  Most people approach it as, "let someone else take a chance...I want to keep my job and not get sued." 

Such is life in our wonderful litigious society. 

We had one client who turned down hiring someone because he had been busted multiple times for driving without insurance.  Are you kidding me?

You might want to stay in this country, but get yourself a new identity......................

Felony theft is not that big of a deal in regards to the big picture. Some states felony theft can be stealing items that have a value that exceeds $400, $500, $600 and so on. I doubt a country is going to care if this guy stole $400 worth of shit.

Felony theft in Louisiana is stealing anything worth over $100. No country is going to care if I am intending to relocate there with that type of charge.

If he legally wants to leave the country a Departure Tax is indeed needed. That would be going through the proper channels.

It is the land of 2nd chances and I wouldn't say nobody is willing to give you a 2nd chance. America is the land of compassionate people.

First thing you must do is acknowledge that you have made mistakes and are very sorry and apologetic for them and you will clean up your act to better yourself.

 You can do that say for instance if you have an anger problem, you could enroll yourself into an anger management class or maybe volunteer for some kind of community service, I mean you just can't sit around hoping someone gives you a 2nd chance, you got to show them you deserve a 2nd chance.

I got a 2nd chance after being terminated from my job for 9 months. I got reinstated and got 9 months of back pay including all the overtime I would have gotten if I was working during those lost 9 months.

And I'm not a professional athlete or a famous person, so I guess I'm common folk...lol
