I have a question regarding a bookie my guillable brother has been working with. Heres the story, i just want to confirm if this is a scam. He has been talking with a capper on the phone for about a year. My bro never bet big, and the capper always wanted him to bet like 1k - 5k. my bro only bets like 100-200 per bet. anyway the capper talked my bro and got him to put in 1000 on a site called 1betvegas.com... my brother played his usual $100 bets. The capper put in more money for him and he was allotted 5x-10x times the amount in deposit. The guy told him to put in CAL last week for 100k twice which he did. so he is up a total of $220k. The guy has an agent name Bill he works with also. They say now that my bro has to pay like 4k plus the capper will put in 12k for a total of 16k for a plane courier that is licensed and bonded. Sorry for the quick story, but he needs to make a decision now. and im telling my brother that it seems to good to be true. Any thoughts if this is or could be legit. Plz help.

Well my bro is only in 1k, so whatever. im trying to keep him from spending another 4k. i told him since they are so heavily vested, that they need to come up with the full courier fee. (if in fact there is one.)

1. Each and every client is responsible for his/her wager that they have placed via the internet.
2. Please write down your ticket number of each and every wager you make on the internet. If you do not get a ticket number for your wager, you have not placed your wager correctly. If you should have a claim on a wager that you've placed over the internet, it will be impossible for us to settle your claim without a ticket number.
3. Please make sure that you confirm your bets via the internet. You may have very well placed your bet, but unless you confirm your bet, it will not be placed into the system. So, when you confirm your wager then and only then will you receive your ticket number, for the wager that you just placed.
4. Also you may print out your wagers for later reference.

the capper seemed to leverage him as a player. and the capper put in his own cash as well (like 20k) if you read they were given like 10x credit. yes my bro is a dipshit for putting in 200k on a bet without knowing the repurcussions ... thank god he won, would hate to see what happened in a loss.

No place does. It's a bogus site that isn't an actual sportsbook. The initial deposit has been lost, that's for sure. The site will probably go down once they think you're starting to catch on. Until then, they'll keep trying to get more money out of you.

I was in the market for a BMW X6 last year. Kept finding them at $70k+. Did some more searching, and found a website that had it at just $52k. I hoped all over it. Talked to the owner over the phone, asked all the normal questions. Seemed like a solid gentleman, southern accent, had pictures of himself next to the car with his family, faxed me a Carfax printout, I checked the VIN, everything was 100% legit.
Turns out the car never existed. When I tried to pay him, he wanted me to transfer the money to a site called MSN Motors. MSN would then hold then money until I recieved the vehicle, and then transfer the money out of their account, to the sellers.
I told the seller this would not be necessary, as I planned to come pick up the car personally with cash. He refused.
Talked to my private dectective before I went any further. The guy is part of a scheme that makes millions of dollars a year. FBI caught one of the fuckers in Miami after I gave all phone numbers and coorespondance to the authorities.
My friend, you're being scammed. Take the $1000 loss and run away.
Hopefully you haven't given him your bank account information. If you did, freeze it immediately.
Not trying to scare you, just trying to help...

Tell your brother I hold the lease to the Empire State Building, the Statue Of Liberty and Mount Rushmore. I can make him a helluva deal to purchase if he has green money.

Leave him alone. Who cares if it's him or his brother? One of them got scammed and it's a terrible thing. Making fun of them for something like this is not what covers.com should be here for
You should be ashamed of yourselves, honestly. We're here to help, not to poke fun at someone elses misfortune.

This is a site that local books use to put their clients on... It is run by 24-7 bookie... I have about 30 players who play through me and they are on it. I could set you up an account with $200k credit in it in about 2 minutes.. Your brother is out his $1k.... As my players don't pay me up front... And he shouldn't even think of sending for courier fee... Its someone trying to set up a scam through there account.

Your post says 'I just want to confirm this is a scam before I stop him'
Every person comes in saying 'it is 100% a scam, you will lose your ass'
...and you continue to argue and ask questions.
We would all love 200 grand... I understand that its hard to let the dream go... but take a step back, assess the situation, and you will realize that your decision is this: lose $1,000 or lose$1,000 and keep paying them more, hoping you will get money back.
