I've read a few stories like this recently........the thing that baffles me though is why these pirates are "captured"

exactly, they are only gonna keep doing this if they release them.

They should start blowing them right out of the water and make the other pirates think hard about attacking ships anymore.

I read that the same bunch was spotted earlier trying to poach elephants with a Daisy Red Rider BB gun.

often times pirates throw their guns and ammo overboard before they are captured so as to dispose of the evidence and then claim they were just out fishing.

It was not the first attack against a Navy ship, but it underscored the fact that most pirates aren't terribly sophisticated

I remember my 1st, you load the sucker up with like 500 bb's and when you raised it to kill a poor tweety bird the bb's made such a racket even the box turtles picked up their pace.
