Florida will win the ncg this year! im predicting it , it will happen. first game against hawaii.slaughter especiallly after the whole tim tebow system quarterback contro from last season.they should score alot and often against a hawaii defense that allowed 30+ points per game last year. Tebow will be all over the place and new running freshman sensation chris rainey  who is lightning fast (40yd dash)4.2 sec. also great running skills in a crowd and good field awareness. Along with the wide recieving corp they have will very hard to beat this year. my lock 1st week florida 1sthalf-21

Losing Cornelius Ingram will hurt both their running game and their passing game and their defense is only 4th best in the SEC East.Add to that the fact that the Florida pass defense was one of the worst in the nation last year and there is little reason to believe that they will be any better this year, and I just don't get all of the 'Gator hype.

They wont be any better?   The gators lost basically no one from an offense that scored 42 a game.   As far as ingram, hernandez is just as good, plus a better blocker.

And the defense will be a ton better, everyone was a freshman last year and gained valuable experience.  Carlos Dunlap going to be a beast on the line. We have one of the best linebacking corps in the nation.

Gators are favored in every game according to vegas already including -2.5 over Georgia.

And remember the name Chris Rainey because you are going to hear it alot.

tt ~ I said that I don't see any improvement in the Gators horrible pass defense.

As far as Ingram is concerned he was projected as a second round draft pick and Hernandez has not yet approached that level.Besides,Florida has been working most of the summer on running a 2 TE set that will have to be scrapped now.

As far as their DBs are concerned,UF was ranked last in the SEC and 98th nationally in pass defense.Since getting torched by Chad Henne for 373 yards and 3 TDs (his best game of the year) ,they have lost former starters at Safety Tony Joiner and Kyle Jackson to graduation,5* S recruit Dee Finley to accademics,S Jamar Hornsby (kicked off team for using a dead girl's credit card),S Jerimie Finch transferred to Indiana,S John Curtis and S and special teams leader Dorian Munroe to torn ACLs.The Gators have already tried to convert WR T.J. Lawrence to Safety. That failed and now they are giving WR Justin Williams a try.

 Forget about Andre Woodson's 35-50 for 415 yards-5 TDs- 0 Int.

The Gators gave up over 300 yards passing to both Seth Adams and Blake Mitchell.

With all of that being said, I feel that the Gators are slightly overvalued, they will win alot of games and score alot of points,I just don't see them challenging for the MNC with that secondary and having a QB leading their team in rushing (even if it is Tebow of Nazareth.).

Florida will have their runs this season but the key is to keep  their starters healthy. They often seem to get key injuries to their starters during the season which will hurt their chances.  Pass defense needs to step up a notch.  However, their offensive will be really good.  Not going to win the BCS Championship but a BCS Bowl is possible if  their offensive team remains healthy throughout the season.

I agree 100%.  Everyone says Florida's defense is going to be better simply because they have another year under there belt???So what if they are 98th against the pass, they have another year under there belt so they will probably be 10th or so atleast.  Just doesn't make sense to me.  They will score some points this year, but there will be alot of points scored on them too.  If they cant get someone who can take the load off of Tebow he will end up getting hurt taking all those hits he has been taking.

You people sound just like the ones last year who said Tebow could only run and would never be able to pass.

The defense will be much better...hell it couldnt be much worse. but Haden and Wondy are going to be good corners this year...and major wright is a pimp at safety.   he played most last year with a broken hand.

tony joiner and kyle jackson sucked and we are better off without them

It doesn't appear as if there will be any teamwork between Harvin and "Lil Percy"  Rainey and it also appears that Tebow is not a Harvin fan as the following excerpts from The Miami Herald would attest.

GAINESVILLE -- Florida receiver Percy Harvin started a fight with freshman running back Chris Rainey during fall camp. Harvin is a junior and a preseason Heisman Trophy candidate. He is also, arguably, the most gifted athlete in college football.

But Harvin [PICTURED] has a history of assaulting other athletes and is a maverick among his teammates. Will Harvin's poor attitude affect the Gators' chances of winning a national championship? Gator Clause addresses the important topic on this podcast. Run time is four minutes and 21 seconds. Click the play button.

UF beat writer takes Percy Harvin to task for his actions this offseason Reply

Scathing rant on all of Percy Harvin's indiscretions and lack of respect for his teammates.

Points in the Podcast:

-- Harvin swung first on Chris Rainey and it wasn't a fair fight

-- Harvin and Rainey have not communicated since

-- Everyone loves Chris Rainey and punching him didn't do much for Percy's rep

-- Harvin refuses to be a leader and doesn't care much about his teammates

-- Tebow is not a Harvin fan and said players like him have to be "cradled" OUCH

-- Harvin did not attend UF Media Day

This sure makes him sound like a T.O. level cancer down in Gainesville but Meyer knew what type of guy he was getting when he signed Harvin. Percy has a checkered past and this Podcast certainly implies that he's still that very same person.

Can UF win a National Title with one of their best players refusing to be a Team Guy?

Since we're talking about Florida's pass defense, let's not forget that they lost their starting safety Dorian Munroe to an ACL injury for the season. I'm starting to think twice about taking the Gators to win the BCS.

I like Florida A lot this year...My early prediction is USC vs. Florida in the Ship if not maybe Oklahoma...I know im a USC fan but I think they make some serious noise this year...Anyway vegasspread i like ur prediction but im obviously taking USC...

Week one Florida DESTROYS The Hawaii person Warriors!!!  4th string QB first start at the swamp...WOW!!!  The gators dont need a secondary not even a real offense, their D Line will get to the QB every down and will score 14 on their own...This game will get out of control real quick...52-10

No. He's supposedly had a nagging ankle injury & is expected to miss the Hawaii game and possibly the Miami game the following week. This would give him till the 20th, cause Florida's off on the 13th, to "heal up". The game on the 20th is at Tennessee.

That's the word out of G'ville anyways.....

But Harvin [PICTURED] has a history of assaulting other athletes and is a maverick among his teammates. Will Harvin's poor attitude affect the Gators' chances of winning a national championship?

Can UF win a National Title with one of their best players refusing to be a Team Guy?

ummm... YEA they already have
