Why ????

Its not just the USC upset people should look at.  They also beat Cal, Arizona and should have beat TCU. All solid programs. They were in alot of close games even though the final score would tell otherwise. They wont likely make it to a bowl this season but watch out for them ATS. As for this game I would stay away but gun to the head play would be Stanford + the points. The line just isn't right. After two weeks you would think there would have been more line movement on this matchup

STANFORD WAS 5-7  ATS LAST YEAR

3-6 ATS VS THE PAC 10

I really love that people are jumping on this team .... 

Making it real easy to fade them and make alot of money this year .....

if past performance indicated future performance, most here wouldn't get gutted like fish on a weekly basis.  that said, gl with yer play.

DoubleUp. You are a stuborn guy. Are you asking for reasons why all the hype surrounding stanford or looking for support that the hype is unjustified? Make up your mind. People are only trying to give insight on your original question and you keep shutting them down.  I could care less about Stanford's program but i do think they could be much improved this season. That only translates to 5-6 wins for a program like stanford. But more important to us that ATS record should improve as well.

This one is about as much of a no-brainer as it was last year when Oregon State was -3 @ Cincinnati, right?

jekyll and hyde laying 3 on the road think you have to pass, they just might be peeking ahead to the game at happy valley, even though this is week 1 and conference game, its not like they have a chance at a bcs game or anything.  im sittin this one out for sure though.

Canfield is not starting this game and will be out the first month of the season according to the guy who covers them on the radio as I just listened to a pac 10 preview and he said he thinks Oregon St. will have one of the worst offensive lines in the Pac 10 this year plus the fact they lost the front 7 on defense I believe Stanford will win this game striaght up. Just my opinon , we shall see.

I was actually going to back Stanford myself until I did some more research. You are right, Oregon St lost all three starting LBs and a few starters on the D-line. That being said, they return their 2 best pass rushers in Butler and Norris. Stanford isn't and hasn't been a good rushing team at all in the past 6 years. Not to mention their starting RB had a total of 12 carries last season. Stanford will have to throw to win, and I'll take a pash rush and 4 Senior defensive backs over Tavita Pritchard anyday. Taking the Beavs -3, but only for a unit as I don't like to back road favs with a lot of money in Aug and early Sept.
