Prospect Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 187 Location:	#1 Posted: 2/12/2013 1:44:22 PM Four Alabama players arrested on robbery charges By Graham Watson By Graham Watson \| Dr. Saturday – 2 hours 29 minutes ago to the Tuscaloosa News, Williams and Hayes admitted to attacking a student, punching him in the head and face and kicking him in the back and rib area while he was unconscious. They stole the victim’s backpack, which had an Apple laptop in it. Williams said the group committed a second robbery where he punched the victim in the face while Pettway and Hayes watched. Williams stole the victim’s wallet and used the student identification card to buy snacks from the vending machine in the football player’s dorm. said in a release. “The suspect and other occupants of the vehicle left the store and began messing with something in the trunk. The clerk then called the police.” Police found the car, stopped it and searched Williams, who was sitting in the backseat on the passenger side. They found a gun in the back of his pants. He was arrested, charged and released on a $500 bond. All four players were backups during the 2013 BCS National Championship game. UPDATE: Alabama athletic director Mal Moore released a statement on the matter: “This is a very serious matter and we are very disappointed in the actions that have resulted in the charges against these student-athletes. In this type of situation, the Athletics Department works in conjunction with the University. We will have more to say at the appropriate time.”

If these guys aren't suspended for the year it will be really disturbing. My guess though is they will be suspended for a game against a cupcake team.

I'm sure if they're convicted of ANY charges related to this that they'll be gone.........permanently. I don't think any HC in the country would let that slide. This is Alabama, however...........let's see if they even get convicted or if the charges are "mysteriously" dropped.

Any other program in the country this would be a no brainer. With Bama though you can never be sure.

This is not the funniest post in this thread, but funny nonetheless. I will bet you (or anyone else) that the 3 robbery suspects will be off the team before the spring game. Heck, I'll even throw in Brent Calloway just to make it interesting.

I hope they aren't back on the team before the Spring Game, or any point again, if these allegations are proven to be true. I hope Saban sends a message that Bama is above allowing players to get away with actions like this. I just wouldn't be shocked if these guys returned to the team at some point in the future though, either later this season or next. It's one thing to fight(really punch) a football player for taunting you a la LeGarret Blount. It's another thing to sucker punch and KO an average student and then rob him.
