Ohio winning by 21&#x2B;....that makes me suspect their competition because they are not that good of a team to be blowing out other average teams like that.BG has pretty good defense....Ohio will not be able to score as easily as they think and they will realize that quickly.BG comming off a bye also.Another thing is I look very carefully before betting a side with 75%&#x2B; action on them and the line has moved from 3.5 crossing a key number all the way down to &#x2B;1.5 now.  Thats not little movement...that is big and I look very carefully before backing a side like that.  I just dont see enough where I can take Ohio in their 3rd game in 12 days against a BG team coming off a bye where BG defense will be better then most of all of Ohios oppenents all year...

I have a feeling it is a fake line movement.  Last night, total went up setting a trap for over backers.  Tonight line dropping by Ohio to trap BG backers.

there is no such this as fake line movement.  There is no such thing as trap lines.The ONLY reason lines move is because vegas is trying to get 50/50 action and they have lopsided money on one side (BG) so they need to lower the line to get more money on the other side (Ohio).Vegas does not try to purposely get a lot of money on one side because they dont know what the outcome will be either (your username might mean you disagree with this)The people that are betting BIG money on the underdog can be wrong and are wrong a lot, but that doesnt mean vegas wins or losses because of this.  It is usally all 50/50 money and vegas wins every time because of juice. Simple as that.

90% of the time people come into my threads and say things like this, they never return when they are wrong. And most of the time they are wrong. So if you could please do me a favor and come back to this thread after the game to either say "I told you so" or own up to your loss I would appreciate it.

I disagree, I believe they do move the line in certain ways to induce betting on a certain side that dont always reflect the money.

why would they do this?You are telling me they are that confident that a certain team will cover that they try to get all the money on the other side?By doing this they are not risking a couple thousand dollars....they are gambling with millions of dollars..why risk that when they can win with juice on every game they offer betting on?

I have a buddy that made a lot of money playing only RLM plays a few years ago but those plays seems to be in the 50% range the last few years. The RLM theory will scare me away from a play for sure but it never is the sole reason for making a play. (And known I know that you didn't make this play for that sole reason).

I look at this game tonight and see two teams that badly need a win to stay in contention for the MAC Champiosnhip. I agree that Ohio's schedule of playing 3 games in 12 days is a concern. Neither team has played a tough MAC schedule but both finish with a brutal stretch.

Ohio's offense is very balanced and the OL is very good. I think Solich is the best coach in this game and the fact that it is SR night should create a better enviroment and maybe a little extra effort on behalf of the Ohio SR's (not buying into this a whole lot). I really like BG's defense but they haven't been tested at all in the last 6 weeks.

It's a tough game to cap and I lean under but GL on your play.

JFen let me ask you this then...If we assume the book is taking a side in this game it would only be logical to assume they were on BG side because they are lowering the line to get more people on Ohio correct?So if that is true then it is the exact same outcome as them moving the line to get 50/50 action.

books don&#x27;t make the line to predict the final score or even necessarily get 50/50 split, they make the line that will profit them the most, even if that means taking position.

These wins pay for those losses, the juice is profit.

Sometimes the book takes a hit on a big game or swing/surprise...But many times they don't. There is a lot of money played and by and large, the public do not make good/sound betting decisions.

My 2 cents.
