Yes, basketball is a different sport. Movin on.
To have a successful shave, you need several things to line up.
1st) Player/players who can actually effect scoring. QB, Rbs, wrs. Check
2nd) Must have the right spread so you can win the game as to raise too many eyebrows, but not cover. Favored by 20 vs KU, 19 vs UVA,16 vs SMU. Check.
3rd) Must be an "under the radar" game. It cant be the thursday night game on ESPN . I think Kansas, Virgina and SMU qualify. Check
Obviously much harder in football simply due to the ball touching more hands.
The TCU defense has been pretty lights out so they are off the hook. 6 points vs KU, 7 vs UVA and 16 @ SMU , gathering 11 takeaways.....
I like Patterson and I doubt its coaching.
Pachal has had solid numbers in all games:
24/30, 2 tds, 0 ints vs KU
21/32 3 tds, 1 int vs UVA
10/26 2 tds , 0 int vs SMU (not steallar by any means, i know)
However, he does have several fumbles......
They have fumbled 7 times in 3 games including several in the red zone.
They are 15/45 on 3rd downs in these 3 games. Seems a little low given their opponents.
Not saying there is anything going on, but 3 weeks in a row means something is very fishy, or TCU simply isnt that good. may be 1 or the other or a combo.
TCU favored by 11 vs Iowa St this weekend. Can they play with fire and get burned? I think this may be the last game they are double digit favs (looking at the schedule now), so this may be their last chance to make some money.
I'm just thinking out loud.
