#1 Posted: 9/10/2012 9:15:39 PM Season Record: 4 - 0 - 1
(Sparty Games): 1 - 0 - 1
Highway freackin' robbery on my MSU/CMU Under pushing!!!! OMG!!! MSU up 41-0 with the ball and 1:40 left in the game......and Connor Cook, MSU's back-up QB is throwing the ball? He throws a pick-6 for the push when it should've been an easy win on the Under 48. Oh well, both of my DD 'dogs almost won SU and covered easily, so it was still a good day. For this week.....
Michigan State -5.....I know, I know.....I showed up late to the party on this one. I saw the opening 3.5, but 5dimes wasn't allowing me to buy a point on the opener, so I waited it out and the next time I was able to wager, it was at 5, I don't see it getting much lower from here, and besides, I think MSU wins by DD's anyway. The big key here is revenge. Sparty won statistically last year in South Bend, but the Irish won where it mattered.....on the scoreboard. And they won on the scoreboard convincingly. I think MSU's defense is gonna smother ND. The Irish have already allowed 7 sacks while playing Navy and Purdue, this Spartan defense will be spending most of Saturday evening in the Irish backfield.
Also, this season the Irish play MSU before they play Michigan. I think that's advantageous for Sparty. Despite MSU being the best of these 3 teams (MSU, ND, UofM) for the last 4/5 seasons, the BIG rivalry is still, and always will be ND/Michigan. So there's a bit of a look-ahead factor for the Irish. Im saying 30-17, Sparty!!!
I'll be around to discuss this game just about every evening this week.
Good luck ya'll !!!! |

#2 Posted: 9/10/2012 10:18:38 PM One of my favorite threads!!!
Was leaning heavily to MSU, but never make a play til I see your thread. You dont know me personally, but thats about as highly thought of by me as you can get in the gambling world.
Thoughts on the total and the ND TT? Would expect about the same as last week, 47/48ish. ND TT should sit at or just above 21....I dont think they cross the 50 yard line much. Their running game is gonna get stuffed and they dont have the speed at wr to make big plays (or the qb to get them the ball for that matter).
Only thing that worries me is Maxwell. Can he make some plays and not just "manage" this squad? Bell will get his yards, but the Irish will be putting 8 in the box....

#3 Posted: 9/10/2012 10:45:54 PM I am with you on the pick if Golston starts..... they force him to throw and win easy.
Revenge for me is a non factor, these teams play every year and they always have a dramatic finish. Sparty dominated them at home for so long..... that win last year was a must coming off 2 straight behind kicking losses. |

#6 Posted: 9/10/2012 10:57:59 PM Sounds like a first half under play to me. Both teams strength is d and coaches are going to be conservative out the shoot. |

#8 Posted: 9/10/2012 11:47:41 PM maxwell was 21/30 against cmu, 275 yards, fowler looked good catching 11 of those, no turnovers except by the back-up, msu defense has not given up a td this year yet, nd in big trouble and overrated, good call |

#10 Posted: 9/11/2012 12:16:39 AM Have to say that I like ND on this one. They were not that good and Mich st was a lot better and ND won. Now ND is a lot better and Mich st is rebuilding. Should be a close game. If the line move to much may switch over and just play the over. |

#11 Posted: 9/11/2012 12:37:31 AM ND had more playmakers on offense ly and were at home...MSU is prolly gonna win the big10 and could go undefeated, they are not in rebuilding year dude, they have top 3 defense in cfb and top 15 oline and top 10 rb, their qb is better than any of the guys on nd side |

#14 Posted: 9/11/2012 2:02:42 AM Got it at -3 yesterday and jumped on it right then. I still think you are safe at -5. I would probably take it all the way up to a touchdown. BOL. |

#16 Posted: 9/11/2012 8:02:49 AM TRAIN - I haven't seen any totals yet, I really hate playing a side and a total in the same game, it just never works out for me. But an ND TT of 21 would certainly look like an under-play, IMO. Maxwell is scary no doubt, but he did show about as much of improvement as I could've realistically hoped for from week 1 to week 2. And like I said, I think ND hosting Michigan in two weeks certainly works to our advantage.

#17 Posted: 9/11/2012 11:03:40 AM The comment that MSU is rebuilding just shows you don't follow MSU football very good. Losing Cousins, Worthy, Cunningham, Martin, Robinson, etc people may expect MSU to fall off but they are reloading instead. The defense is better than it was last year. Only given up 3 points so far. Maxwell is in his 4th year and is just as good, if not better than Cousins IMO. He has a stronger arm. QB coach Dave Warner has also said there won't be any drop off at the QB spot this year.
MSU has playmakers all over the place on offense. The problem is most of them are just inexperienced. Bell is obviously a Heisman candidate at running back. Dion Sims is going to have a huge year at tight end. Receiver is the biggest question mark on the team, but it's not because of lack of talent. Fowler is clearly the #1 guy but guys like Mumphery, Lippett, Arnett, Burbridge, Kings, and Sims are getting better as they gain experience and get playing time. Spartan Stadium will be rocking on Saturday. I look for the MSU defense to be great and frustrate Kelly. Kelly doesn't have much patience with QBs I think Rees will finish the game.
MSU -5

ND is a whole lot better this year than they were last year, and I am not so sure Sparty is. Yes, the Spartans defense is scary good, but the offence, not so much. I bet against the rookie Sparty QB in week 1 against Boise St, and made some good money on it. By no means is this game as cut and dry as people are saying. I think both teams will have problems moving the ball, and it will come down to a special teams score, or defensive score. Either way going to be a close game. Good luck, JMO |

#23 Posted: 9/11/2012 9:09:15 PM These teams have rotated wins every year except when msu won two in row couple years back, if game comes down to special teams and defense that favors state too, not to mention they haven't lost at home in over two years...this is game 3 not game 1, Maxwell will be fine |

#25 Posted: 9/11/2012 10:52:31 PM Oddsmakers set it at 3 for a reason. Ill take my chances with nd +6. Nd is just as hood ad green boise squad that rolled through east lansing. |
