Merry Christmas All!!! It sure feels good to see some real bullets flying tonight so let's jump on it. south carolina certainly comes in with the hype and expectation of their record season last year, nothing new for spurrier but what about this team? of course there will be a ton of questions that will be answered for both teams tonight, but we have to be aware of the questions to give ourselves a chance to be on the right side. Lattimore seems to be ok from everything i've read and heard, especially heard being here in Charlotte. certainly advantage gamecocks. how will the inexperienced secondary of south carolina perform tonight? no aguste, a new defensive coordinator. that is a huge kink to work out on the road, in conference after losing one hell of a d coordinator. south carolina will still bring hell off the edges though with mr. clowney, but again, question marks in the 2ndary. so can vandy take advantage? certainly seems like they have a chance to! a senior qb and a ton of returning starters on both sides of the ball, but specifically offensively on the O line and at receiver. If Rodgers has his shit together, i think they will be able to move the ball south carolina defense. vandy played some stingy pass D last year, top 10 in pass efficiency defense in the land, they didn't lose much and gamecocks are thin at WR. I think vady has enough returning starters to be in sync tonight and keep this one close, i don't think they win, but i think they can cover. not sure any of vandy's past trends and performances really matter tonight. Franklin has created a confidence that i've never seen there, they are on TV, ton of returning starters. They keep it close.

i'm going to lay'em on the road w/ ucf tonight as well. I'm sure bowden and amato will have their successes this season, but ucf returning a ton of starters from a team that lost a lot of close games last year, not to mention a defense returning 8 - ranked 9th in both total defense and scoring defense. godfrey didn't transfer so his playmaking ability will still be on the field as bortles takes over. they bring their most experienced d line in 3 years in and against a new coaching staff, i'll take my chances with them. steele has ucf as his most improved so figure i'll jump on them now and if they do work, they will probably be inflated in lots of their games. not overly crazy about laying'em on the road like this but eh.

so I feel Leach will certainly implement his offense starting tonight,
but not without hiccups, drops, missed conversions, etc.. additionally,
byu has probably their best defense returning in i don't know how
long. they are used to playing nickel defense so forcing them to be in
the nickel the whole game won't be awkward to them. Nelson is going to
do his fair share of running himself. I think Leach might actually
sneak more runs in tonight than he will in any other game as he knows
there will be kinks having to be worked out. byu is together, old and
more complete than a team with a new coach, new identity, etc.. not
saying wsu won't put points on the board, but i think byu defense will
get some stops and certainly more than wsu defense.
