#4 Posted: 7/19/2012 1:51:11 PM 2 or less maybe suggests an 'investigation'.....
***KEY > can the guys coming back play?.....
If LY's line was great....these guys (even with nobody coming back) could be very good.....if previous line stunk...they could be terrible
*if combined with a new QB.....and a new HC therefore learning new terminology/systems.....watch out and if facing a very aggressive defensive front EARLY....they could be in trouble
If you really want to be thorough.....you should go the team's official website....
http://www.philsteele.com/FBSInfo/schoollinks.html
*look in cumulative/individual game stats.....a guy with few starts might have played a ton.....

#7 Posted: 7/20/2012 12:51:09 AM from Steele seems like......maybe a better indicator than # of starters
forget Stanford.....they'll be fine
a few at the bottom kinda just leap off the page....
consider SMU....0 starters back......and a QB that hasn't taken a snap yet......G Gilbert had to spend the spring taking 27 hours or so (holy crap) to graduate......to become eligible at SMU....later...he may be fine since this is the offense he ran in high school ....plus June Jones has been trying to leave for 2 years....but can't get hired
HAWAII....... UAB....Rice....Idaho?

#10 Posted: 7/20/2012 1:14:52 PM Hawaii .... with a new coach + new QB + on the road + bad OL + facing an aggressive/more talented DL + all new calls/blocking schemes/techniques....looks like the best one to fade
*it seems like many here don't realize the old Hawaii offense is GONE.....they are NOW running an offense more familiar to USC.....than them.....UH-OH....

#11 Posted: 7/20/2012 4:03:22 PM of course, at the top of the list, teams like kent st and ball st having their crappy lines returning is not a good thing. |

#13 Posted: 7/20/2012 4:24:24 PM Norm Chow's first coaching job now- didn't have a terrible performance in Utah but wasn't spectacular either. Also must consider the change from pac 12 opponents to WAC he may fare just fine but there are several factors working against him as you pointed out |

Agree, # of starts is better than # of starters, but the best inidcator would be # of snaps, but I think only a few schools chart this number. If two guys get equals snaps, one of them is a starter in name only. Not sure how many schools rotate the O Line... |
