its logic to call timeouts there.no other reason not to.they basically had the mentality "we have to stop them here else we won&#x27;t have a chance"what coach does that?  there&#x27;s really no excuse for it .

Even with the "we have to stop them mentality" is absurd if the coach was thinking that. NIU had 2 timeouts so they could have stopped the clock if necessary. Its not like NIU was going to stop Toledo from at least getting into fg range. I have no idea what the hell that coach was thinking. Thats the kind of stuff that makes you lose a team, especially with him being such a hardass on the kids.With that being said the Captain of the defense needs to understand the situation and step up and call the timeout or have someone fake an injury at least.

Totally inexcusable. I mean did it ever run thru his mind what if NU scores? Hello, if NU scores, they can&#x27;t stop us. The only way NU can stop us is if there&#x27;s no time on the clock and that&#x27;s exactly what happened. If anybody on Toledos defense had half a brain. They would of huddle up and said let them score, no one would be able to tell the difference if we let them or not. And let our offense win this for us. After they went from there 32 to your 27 in two plays, that should have told you all you needed to know if you were thinking Toledo was gonna come up with a stop.
