Air Force ignorance...

All day on this board i've been reading "Air Force will run all over SDSU and that's why they'll cover"

This kind of basic, overly simplistic thinking is just a joke. 

Will Air Force run all over SDSU? Probably. Does that mean they'll cover? Maybe, maybe not. 

Keep in mind last year when these 2 teams played Air Force rushed for 312 yards... AND LOST THE GAME STRAIGHT UP

Also keep in mind this Air Force defense (yes Air Force will have to play defense in this game too, I know all of you want to focus only on the Air Force offense) is terrible. They allow 245 yards per game on the ground. 

Lastly lets not ignore that there to take advantage of that horrid Air Force run defense is Ronnie Hillman. Hillman ran for 191 yards against Air Force last season and is a 100% no doubt about future NFL running back. If you don't know about him, you soon will. 

That's all i've got. Am I am SDSU fan? Yes. Am I a homer? No sir. I'm not even saying SDSU will cover, they very well might not, but you guys have to look at the full picture of the game and not just focus on one aspect of it.

hah, i know it will come across like that, but i'm really not. I have no problem betting against SDSU and already have a couple of times this season (Army and Michigan) but in this case there is way too much love for Air Force and it's all b/c of that triple option. People are overlooking the rest of the game

If we all relied on last year's scores and stats, I'm pretty sure I'd never lose a game.

Who cares?  That was last year.

Air Force backers should care... the common thought is b/c AF will run over them is that it guarantees a cover... last years result show that isn't always the case

But what does last year have to do with this year?  Same players?  Same coaches?  Same situations?  Same motivation?

That's not the point, my point is it's possible to run all over a team and not cover... just using last years game as an example.

It doesn't even have to be SDSU/AF, i just used that game as an example b/c that's the game going tonight. It could be Team A vs Team B.... my point is just b/c Team A rushes for 300 yards it doesn't ensure that they'll cover.

Not trying to be a dick.  Just don't like when people support a pick based on last year's this and that.  Or past matchups this and that.  I have AF tonight so just trying to figure out why some people are taking SDST.

Just as well, they could rush for under 300 yds AND cover.  I just don't get your point.  Are you supporting a particular side?  Or just throwing out useless facts.

my point is just b/c Team A rushes for 300 yards it doesn't ensure that they'll cover.

No worries man, were just going in circles. My point wasn't SDSU beat AF last year so they will again this year. My point was AF running all over them doesn't ensure a cover. There is much more to the game than just how well AF does rushing the ball.

Really?

I lean SDSU yes, but my point is everyone on Air Force is taking them just b/c "they will run all over SDSU" i've read that in numerous threads all day. That logic is overly simplistic and flawed. THAT is my only point. Breakdown the entire game. What will SDSU do when they have the ball? How is Air Force on defense? Etc etc....

As I have said in other threads, having faced Air Force, Navy, Cal Poly and Army within the past year, SDSU's defense might be the most experience defense in defending the triple option in the country.  I will add that SDSU won all 4 of those game as well.

Take SDSU and the points, even thoough you probably won't need them.

Lets also not overlook or ignore the fact that Air Force has allowed 235 yards per game rushing.... good enough for DEAD LAST IN THE NATION!!

Everyone wants to talk about AF's run game, well you know what? They've gotta play defense too. Or at least attempt to

David - One thing I've learned from sports betting is that stats are misleading.  Did AF play the exact same teams as everyone else in the nation?  If so, then you're statement about being dead last in the nation carries weight.  But they didn't, so it doesn't.

Jimmy - Very good point.  Will do a little more research.

Once again, I'm not trying to be "that guy" who goes out bashing other people's threads.  Just trying to get better at this.

Icpa, i get what you're saying, but despite who they've played or haven't played being dead last in the nation in rush defense is something that can't be ignored.
