This will be Pittsburgs first road game and after playing Buffalo and Maine to start the season I would have expected their production to be better than it is.
Iowa is coming off a huge instate loss to the ladies at Iowa State. They would like nothing else than to talk about something else all week and I would like nothing else as well.
Pitts weaknesses are many. #108 in pass defense, #74 in total defense, #117 in sacks allowed, #91 in pass efficency and #93 in turnover margin. If this continues today that willl get beat.
Iowa's weak areas would be defense....however playing 3 OT's in last game will inflate these numbers....but then again who's fault is that Iowa? #82 in rush defense, #81 in pass efficency def, #77 in sacks and #86 tackles for a loss. Rarely do you see one teams offensive weakness (Pitt) going right at a defense weakness in categorie specifics......something has to give.
Pitts Strengths: #39 rush,#25 rush defense, #34 punt return and #27 kickoff return, #37 in sacks and #29 in tackles for a loss......then again remember the competition and all at home.
Iowa's Strenghts: #38 scoring offense (3OT's last week will contribute so a little misleading), #21 KO return, #18 in turnover margin, #41 pass efficency and #11 sacks allowed.
OVERALL: I believe the motivation, home field and the turnover margin will be in Iowa's favor.
