Whose ready for some football. No real news here just getting excited about the game. My sister is getting married that friday night so I will be on the red eye to get to Dallas by about 6 am and will be ready to party. Should be a great game to watch.
Oh yeah, there will be A LOT of us there.
BATON ROUGE - When LSU opens the 2011 season against Oregon in the Cowboys Classic in Arlington, Texas, they will do so after distributing a school-record 37,000 tickets for the contest, assistant athletic director for ticket operations Brian Broussard said on Monday.
The 37,000 tickets distributed for the game to Tiger fans through the LSU ticket office is the most ever for a regular season away game for the school, surpassing the 31,000 sold for the Tulane game in New Orleans in 2007 and 25,000 for the 2010 season opener against North Carolina in the Chick-fil-A Classic in Atlanta.
As a result of the 37,000 tickets being sold to season ticket holders, tickets for the Cowboys Classic game against Oregon will not go on sale to the general public through LSU, Broussard said. Broussard added that ticket requests from LSU season ticket holders for the Oregon game had already surpassed the school's allotted amount of 37,000.

Oregon physical?? Right... Auburn dominated in the trenches against Oregon... I'm not saying that because of the whole SEC thing cuz I was going for Oregon...
Oregon looks good against teams that only have a week to prepare for their offense... Kinda like Georgia Tech and Navy looked like a couple years ago... But remember when LSU has a while to prepare they look dominate... Ex. GT in the Chik fil a bowl a couple years ago and the Cotton Bowl this past year

Oregon is too fast for LSU, Not too physical, LSU is the physical team here but Oregons spped is the real deal. My only concern for Oregon is they lost 3 starters on the Offensive line.
Watching the spring game I dont see them going for 2 pointers after a score I also do not see them getting first downs if they are in 4th and short situations.
LSU has the same exact problem as last season, NO FUCKING QUARTERBACK.
Nothing hurts me more as a handicapper to see a team with great talent all around.
O-line great
W-recievers very good
Running backs very good
D-line stacked
Linebackers awesome
D-Bs top of the line and then you have a crap at QB.
This was a national championship team last season had they had a decent signal caller, and they are stuck with the same garbage again.
What a fucking pitty

You're right... JJ is very mediocre at best... but LSU can work around him and limit him and play his strengths... (running)... But I think LSU will more than likely feed off of their D... Everyone thought Oregon was too fast for Auburn last year too... Now I'm not dogging Oregon because they are a lot of fun to watch... but I was shocked at how Auburn manhandled them in the trenches last year... I think LSU has more speed than people think and they will pull this one off...

If I'm not mistaken Auburn scored a late TD to win 24-17 against LSU...
Oregon has the speed on offense no doubt... but lose 2 or 3 starters on the O-Line... They also lose 5 starters on their front 7 on defense...
LSU has 9 starters on offense returning offense... including 4 of 5 on the O-Line... Jordan Jefferson is the big ?... but he still looked very good in certain games last year... ex. Cotton Bowl which they had a month to prepare
What people don't realize is LSU has speed just not as much as Oregon... Oregon's speed isn't as big of an advantage here...

SEC vs. PAC 10. Why are we having this discussion?
Should be a great game and LSU is more physical and just as fast. Oregon's gimmick offense doesn't bode well against NFL speed-caliber players
You can't really call Oregon's offense "gimmick" because 8 out of 10 teams run the same spread offense. I agree, this should be a really good game and it is one of the few early matchups that are on my radar already.

I won't be there but I'll be watching on a very big screen, drinking a lot of beers. It's crazy how quick those tickets sold out. When people think of the new Cowboys Stadium they automatically think of 100k+ capacity but for this college venue it will be only 80k+ capacity.
I really like LSU in this one mainly because of the advantage I think they will have in the trenches both OLine and DLine, and also they have one of the most talented secondary's in the country. I guarantee if Jefferson struggles early, Les will mix it up a bit and give Zach Mettenberger a shot. One thing that gets overlooked a lot with Jefferson is his ability to make plays with his feet.
Early Prediction: LSU 30 Oregon 20
Game MVP: Spencer Ware

Everyone in the country has speed at RB, WR, etc. When talking about team speed analysts are usually referring to the D-Line, LB's, and DB's.
On Jordan Jefferson: watching every game last year it seemed like Jefferson played with more confidence each game. I hope it doesn't take him as long to get started this year.
I hope Chavis gets the Def. prepared. I know he's a different coach and we have different players but Oregon's offense reminds me of Arkansas when they had Felix Jones and Darren McFadden. I hated playing against them. Even when we beat Ark they would still have 300yds rushing against a defense that sent a majority of the players to the NFL.
I think LSU's OL will open up huge holes for our young RB's. If the offense doesn't turn the ball over LSU will win

Auburn had the same problem in 2004 Jason Campbell did not impress anyone the year before. In fact he had similar numbers as JJ (in my opinion horrible numbers). Then Jason Campbell led the Auburn to an undefeated season in 2004 and was named the SEC Player of the Year and MVP of the SEC Championship Game. I love to see an SEC Team grind it out against any west coast team. LSU has better players and athletes across the board when you look at every position. This will be a good game and hopefully catapult the tigers to a BCS championship in the Super Dome.
