Boston College has won their last 5, but then again they are in the ACC and the combined records was 24-38 with Syracuse being their biggest win. They lost all 5 games to ranked teams and teams with a winning record this season outside of Syracuse.
BC Offense: #88 rushing, #94 passing, #106 total, #109 scoring defense........why is this team in a bowl again??? Add that they are #82 in sacks allowed and #104 in passing efficency....why is this team in a bowl again??? They are #104 in punt return and dead last at #120 in KO return.
This is BY FAR THE WORST Offensive team I've capped all year.
BC Defense: Ok, this is a little better. #1 in rushing defense but #81 in pass defense. In addition they are #87 in sacks. They are #13 in total defense and #19 in scoring defense.
Nevada Offense: Nevada coming out of the WAC the stats will be a little inflated, however let us remember that they beat Boisie State and Freson State.
Led By Huge Senior QB Kaepernick they are #3 in rushing, #53 passing and #3 in total offense. In addition they have the #5 scoring offense in the country.
They are #10 in sacks allowed and #13 in passing efficency.#38 in KO return and #53 in punt returns and you add that with #30 in turnover margin and field advantage goes to Nevada.
Nevada Defense: Teams can score, but not sure about Boston College with their putrid offensive numbers.
#23 rushing defense, but #108 against the pass.....part of the passing numbers is because teams have to throw to catchup alot of the time. A truer number is their pass efficency defense is #50. They are #28 in sacks and #50 in tackles for a loss.
Overall and Pick: Boston College is built on defense and the only chance they have is to shut down Nevada, Boisie St could not do that. BC is not desgined to play from behind and play in a fast tempo game.
Nevada -7 bought the hook at -120

what site has the rankings of where these teams rank nationally in all these categories?
I actually have some friends that I refer to as "nerds" that work for Rockwell Collins in Iowa. They have put together all the stats with the help of a group that works for the NCAA in Indianapolis, IN.
When I'm capping a game they send me all stats that they have on the two teams and then I decide if I'm going to play or not.
It saves me alot of time researching the stats and i know there is software outthere that does the same thing, but this is free and easier for me.
