Tech plus 3.5. Stanford has had an amazing team and turnaround, however I think they might be in slightly over their heads with VT.

I actually do fear and respect the Cardinal but spent a fairly reasonable amount of time with computer simulations well after my assumption. Stanford is a tremendously talented but everything thing on paper points to a potential VT SU win.
It's a bowl game so everything is up for grabs of course. PAC 10 just never plays well out in the South East.

hey, thats why they play the game...the Cardinals are thee most balanced and complete team in the Pac-10, no gimmicks, just sound kick-ass football...

Stanfords only statistical mismatch is in the pass department where VT's pass yards average is only 2YDS! greater than the pass yards Standford allows. My research dating back to the 1935 Orange bowl show that a total over 58 has only been achieved 11 out of the 75 times this bowl game has been played. BUT the 2 times a PAC 10 team has played in the rose bowl the total has gone over. And the PAC10 averaged 45.6 points in the two games(USC). VTech is 1-3 ATS in the orange bowl there only win coming against cincinati in the 2009 orange bowl as a 2.5 underdog. In 1996 they challenged Nebraska in the orange bowl(VT) and lost by 20 points but the total reached 62! During that time Nebraska average 42 pts a game very close to this Stanford Team. My prediction Stanford and OVER.
