Well, can't complain about that regular season.. ended on a 24-7 run.. hoping to keep it going in Bowl Season..
Already seeing some nice match-ups.. will wait on lines to give my initial thoughts..
In terms of BCS games, will not play them all, but would currently lean: TCU, VT, UCONN, Arkansas, Under in Aub/Ore
Will be playing the Hogs + points for sure.. UCONN if it stays above 17.5 and TCU if it drops below 3..
GL and hopefully I can keep the gravy train rolling..

#4 Posted: 12/6/2010 1:44:41 PM Not sure any team is playing better right now than Arkansas.. it's not just Mallet throwing the ball, but they've established a good, solid run game which opens up the passing attack.. Hogs also beaten some good teams this year, showing me they have what it takes to compete against solid teams (A&M, @South Carolina, LSU, @Miss State)
OSU has beaten 0 teams that are currently ranked and its best wins are 7-5 Penn State, 7-5 Iowa and 7-5 Miami.. Buckeyes have a solid D, but I'm not overly impressed by being able to shut down Purdue and Minnesota.. read: not hard to pad stats by playing average teams each week
I'd also argue LSU's D is better than OSU's, and Arkansas torched the Tigers for 31 pts and 464 total yards..
Just my opinion, but I'd put Arkansas right now on a neutral field vs. just about anybody... Mallet now in a dome.. forget about it.. Think the only way OSU wins/covers is if Pryor has another Rose Bowl 2010 game..

#6 Posted: 12/6/2010 3:30:55 PM Agree with your Hogs pick SatNight...if Mallett struggles it's because he gets flustered due to pressure. Ohio State does not rush the passer very well at all. And ever since Knile Davis became the starting RB, Arky's offense has been nearly unstoppable.
Plus, what is Ohio State's best win this year? @ 7-5 Iowa, a game in which they only led for about 6 minutes? Arkansas destroyed a good South Carolina team on the road and took care of LSU at home.
HFA should strongly be in Arkansas' corner as well. Hog fans travel better than just about any group in the country.

RollBama think Hogs are just a better team, though OSU will sell out its allotment of tix..

#8 Posted: 12/7/2010 12:57:45 PM OK.. so my guy won't put lines up until next week I believe (which sucks).. but these are the games I will be on for sure..
FIU +2 vs. Toledo.. best non-aq 6-6 team out there..played Rutgers, A&M real close, also lost @Maryland, @ Pitt.. team is solid..
Iowa +1 vs. Missouri.. Iowa always brings it in bowl season.. doubt Stanzi will want to go out a loser..
Mich State +10.5 vs. Bama.. where's the motivation for Bama? Dantonio treating this as basic BCS bowl, should have his boys ready.. Bama D injury riddled as well
Tulsa/Hawaii Over 70.. not sure why this line is dropping.. Hawai throws it a ton, Tulsa can't stop it.. also will be basic home game for Warriors.. thinking 45-31 type game..
Hogs +3 vs. OSU.. went over this above..
Games I'm strongly leaning to:
- UCONN +17 vs. OU
- Mid Tenn +2 vs. Miami, OH
- LSU -1 vs A&M
- Troy -1.5 vs Ohio
- TCU -2.5 (line will be PK by kickoff) vs Wisky
- Ill/Baylor Over 61.5
- FSU +3 vs South Carolina
Will begin to add once I lock them in.. I'm sure there will be others.. love this time of year..

#9 Posted: 12/7/2010 1:06:41 PM I completly agree with your Hogs play... OSU has not really played anyone impressive.....not that OSU isn't any good, but IMO Hogs are the right side here.

#16 Posted: 12/8/2010 8:45:43 AM Have any of you seen Troy play more than a couple games? I have watched Ohio play several times and I want to jump on Troy b/c of what I watched out of Ohio... Thoughts on Troy?

#17 Posted: 12/8/2010 12:27:04 PM Wahoo FIU will be one of my strongest plays
rLp Nope.. seem them play a couple. just know how bad Ohio actually is.. will have to see injury report on Boo and others before final decision.. Troy not Troy of past.. but still decent team.. Sun Belt should go 3-0 vs MAC..

They want that bowl payoff money. Missouri's in for a good ol' uppercut here. Mich State +10.5 vs. Bama.. I'm speculative here but I lean towards the overall talent of Alabama to shine. Plus, Saban last embarassment versus Utah should teach him a lesson about opposition. Also, Saban had Dantonio as his DB coach while at Michigan state. Interesting one to watch. Tulsa/Hawaii Over 70.. Looks like a good call. Hogs +3 vs. OSU.. One of my favorite bets (as you know from my post). Let's make the chedder here and quiet all the suspicion about Arkansas worthiness. |
