POM on North Carolina takeing ECU to the Woodshed!!

Taking NC -13.5 Big over ECU; I was surprised the line was not higher. ECU is just not a very good defensive team. They rank 114th in NCAA D1. Anyone that thinks that ECU can come in and beat NC are dreaming, NC has a very very deceiving record. First off considering if they had all their players from the beginning this team was defensively good enought to challenge for a NC. They have 4 players on the front 7  that can go in the first round. They could easily be 3-0. The GTech game was a back and forth game which NC could of won that game and the LSU game was a horribly played gamed with 8 turnovers.  LSU is a top 5 defense and Yates LIT THEM UP for over 400 yards throwing in that game, Now he faces one of the most enept defensive teams in the NCAA. ECU will have more trouble moving the ball against NC than Vtech and if Vtech and that offense can score 49 like Tulsa did. NC will have no problem putting up a half a hundred on them. ECU is on the road against a team that just got a much needed win on the road at Rutgers. I expect NC to come out quickly in this game and eliminate the mistakes that have cost them the early games. ECU OLINE is going to get DOMINATED. ECU had major mismatches on the WR position vs ECU CB. Yates will exploit that as they are more of a passing team.  They have not faced a Dline like this in a long time. Yates should play until the 4th unless it gets totally out of hand. NC 56-21.

They are top 3 as far as top NFL caliber players; they are just not all playing right now.

ECU can score against the 103rd and 110th rated defense in the country with Tulsa and Memphis and then face Vtech off a loss to JMadison which took them 2 qtrs and then blew them out. Vtech got their crap together and shutout BC. NC is a in a great spot coming off a big win and coming home to play a team that is more like the practice team they play against. Yates is a veteran qb with a great receiving corps plus they should be able to run the ball which will only open up their offense even more. Every team can score on Memphis and Tulsa that doesnt mean that they can score against extremely good defensive teams on the road. NC will put up points on boths sides Offense and Defense. You are getting at least a touchdown in line value due to how this season has played out but considering everything NC was going thru they still lit up LSU who is a top 5 defense. This is the first cupcake that they will play and should pile on the points whenever possible. Gl on your plays

It's not had for me to lay points when I am playing with a defense that is already good and could be much better with those players possibly coming back against a team with no defense and a veteran QB.playing at home off a win. We will see its an early game so I always seem to lose those so you may be right, I just think there is alot of line value in this game.

You said it about NC potentially not taking them seriously.  I dont know the mentality of this team under Bitch Davis. 

However if its the kind of game you and I think it will be 13.5 isnt shit for points. 

But also like you said anything can happen.  If the O/U was a little higher Id feel really good about this one.  Ill be on UNC one of the best teams in the country to crush an instate team at home.

The announcement Friday will be key if thoe players are allowed to play I dont see a huge result from them but they have still been practicing and easily could make a couple of huge plays that blows this game wide open. This is a total mismatch; and the game is at NC; thats why the line is 13.5; ECU played a wounded duck in Vtech then their defense stepped up and took them out; now they face a defense that will punch them in the mouth and a seasoned offense with a great qb and wr corp. ECU offense is going to look very marginal now that they face an amped up defence in chapel hill. I just think NC is going to produce too many turnovers for ECU to stay close and there wont be a backdoor cover in this game at all.

13.5 is a lot of points for an underachieving team. That ECU team can score.

NC has played tough teams, but those were flawed in their own way. Rutgers is not a good at all. NC has been very inconsistent, tough team to get a feel for.

I would lay off or take the points. If nothing else, could be a backdoor cover.

Sturdivant and Johnny White are both doubtful for UNC. Dont know if I can rely on an already depleted UNC team to cover 2 TDs.

Yates hasn't lit anybody up since he has been there.  I agree that NC has many NFL caliber players on their rosters, and some of them haven't been suspended. Watching the Rutgers game, NC should have lost outright. They were outclassed against an LSU team that decided not bother playing the second half. And GA Tech is not nearly is good as it was last year.

NC is a solid squad, they will win games. They just happen to be a team that is unable to blow out teams, regardless of how good or the opposition is.

ECU will throw it all day. I think there is a chance that NC could go up by 14 or more, I just dont think the final score will reflect that.

ecu is in greenville, not greensboro.  not to say that they won't bring fans, but it's not quite that close. 

this is a huge rivalry game for ecu, much less so for unc.  ecu (and their fans) always have a huge chip on their shoulder when playing on of the state's "big 4".
