*** FREAK PICS *** (Week 1)

WOW!!!  Can't believe it's that time again!!!  I'll start with Thurday's plays.  I have no Friday play.  I'll add Saturday plays later on today or tomorrow probably.

FAU @ UAB (UNDER 25 1st Half)

Both teams return the bulk of their defenses, and both teams are rebuilding on the offensive side of the ball.  I think both offenses to come out of the gate slowly.  Look for the defenses to control the action early on.

Northern Illinois @ Iowa State (UNDER 25.5 1st Half)

NUI has QB questions, and both teams love to pound the ball.  Don't see the offenses lighting up the scoreboard out of the gate.

Southern Miss @ South Carolina (USM +8 1st Half)

I love Southern Miss in this game.  There are fired up, well prepared, and are looking to pull the upset.  I think the Golden Eagles give Spurrier and the Cocks fits early on.  I'm just not sure if their intensity and secondary will be able to hold up for 60 minutes.  I love this 1st Half number!!!

I am ordinarily not a big totals player either, but defenses are typically ahead of the offenses this time of year, and both of these games scream UNDER IMO.

In the college game, because of the overtime rules, I always play my UNDER totals for the 1st Half, and my OVER totals for the game.

Right now we're not opposite anything because Bookmaker has failed to credit my account!!!    Now the 1st Half line on the Southern Miss/South Carolina game has gone from 8 to 6.5!!!    Kickoff is in 30 fucking minutes and these jerk-offs have still not credited my account!!!

Not a great start, but I'm pretty confident I'll do a whole lot better the rest of the way.

All of my lines came from Bookmaker at the time of posting.  They had Bama at -23 1st Half.  I think they cover that mainly because, aside from Bama being very good, SJSU is just a pitiful football team.

There is still a chance that Ingram will play against Penn State, but if neither Ingram nor Dareus is able to play, I'd be surprised if there wasn't some sort of an adjustment in the line.  It won't effect me placing a "max bet" on Bama on any line below 2 TDs however.

I usually have to explain this every season, and I'll probably have to do so several more times, but here is how I bet college football.  I do not place individual bets on all my games.  I bet one game, and then bundle that pick into a 2 or 3-team parlay.

Using my current card as an example, I will bet Texas for $2,000 and play Texas, Purdue and Kentucky in a 3-team parlay for $1,000.  That way, as long as my top play hits, I'll make money regardless of what the other two plays do.

Last night was a perfect example.  My top play hit, but my other two did not, so even though I went 1 & 3, I still made money.

By the same token I could go 6 & 9 on my plays and lose money if my top plays don't cover.

This strategy has made me a lot of money over the years.
