Utah will throw the ball less than 15 times in this game. Whittingham
is going to try to win it with a healthy running game and stuffing Dion
Lewis
Starting left guard, center, right guard and quarterback for Pitt have a
total of 1 college start. Not good for Dion. If Siliga and Krueger
can stuff the middle and keep Lewis from popping through to the
inexperienced Ute Linebacker corps, it could be a long day for Pitt.
I doubt Sunseri will have much production in his first game. Crowd
noise, altitude, first game jitters, porous offensive line all will play
factors in his tiny little head.
I think Sheard will be have a tough nite against Bergstrom. Bergstrom
has a pretty decent drop step on bull rushers. But will probably contain any plays going out wide for Utah.
Romeus will do some damage. He is going against Juco Transfer (but juco
offensive player of year) John Cullen. He hasnt had the best camp and
there will be concerns for the first few games. Romeus will get to
Wynn a few times. But Wynn wont be doing any 7 step drops and very few 5
step drops. Mainly 3 steppers with slant patterns to the X receiver or
wide receiver screens to the Y receiver. Maybe an occasional deep
ball to our Z receiver but only to keep Holley honest from creeping up
too much.
Where I think the big damage will be done is right up the tail pipe with
Utah RB's Wide and Asiata. Wide had over 1000 yards last year and
Asiata is a beast. They will be running behind Schlauderhaff and Zane
Taylor who are both PreSeason MWC first team offensive lineman. Going
against Caregin and Alecxih might be the mismatch of the game. Expect
80% of the plays called going "A-Gap Right" directly at Alecxih. I
think Utah will be successful with that and the clock will keep ticking.
Also somewhat interesting that Pitt arrived in SLC today at 4pm. Just
24 hours to adjust to the altitude? Hmmm. Maybe not a big factor but
most teams visiting Utah (and Wyo & Colorado as well) purposely
arrive 48 hours prior for the extra adjustment. We will see how that
plays out.
I am HEAVY on the under and average on the Utes.
But that is just from the dude sitting in Section 35 row 18 tomorrow. I
might have my crimson glasses on too tight.
Go Utes!!

NO NO NO NO. Pitt wins this game by a touchdown. Utah lost 6 oof 7 guys in the back and Pitt has a heisman candidate in teh backfield. Pitt will break in the quarterbaack and throw it up to ther 6'5 reciever who cant be stopped.

Well those are the two ways that Pitt can win this. If Lewis can get into the linebackers, it will really help Pitts chances. Also if Sunseri doesn't act like 99% of quarterbacks do in their first game on the road, they definitely have the height advantage against the corners of Utah.
Those are big IF's in my opinion.

like pit but the under is looking like the best play tonight...i think you can count on pitt keeping it very conservite cause of the qb issue and pitt's D is going to play off the hook....so under looks good
