Well they are bringing in a New QB who was a 5 star transfer from Florida; Cameron Newton. So that right there is a Big ?
They were very soft against the run last year giving up 156 ypg on the ground and gave up and SEC high 25 rushing TD's. The defense ranked 11th in the SEC giving up 374 ypg. The offensive line and ground game seems to be the strong points. Their offense was explosive last year, but they did lose Ben Tate now have a new QB. So until Newton proves he can play at that level in the SEC ? Then, Auburn is just an average joe for now... ![]()

They might be able to put some points on the board, but giving up almost 30pts a game last year (30 to Ball State.....really??) doesn't sit well with me going into the season....I'm gonna need A LOT of convincing to jump on this bandwagon, but we'll see.

Looked lost...what are you talking about? Newton played in only 4 series, threw the ball eight times, and was not allowed to run.

HAHAHAHAHAHA. So true. You win on that argument as I am speechless. I tend to side with the rest of the posters too though and will need more of a convincing with their defense before I am sold. Without a doubt, they are well coached and moving in the right direction. ![]()

First of all, the QB's wear yellow jerseys and for the most part, cant be touched...which means you're not going to see the strength or athleticism of his running ability. To say he was "lost" is absolutely rediculous. I guess the Auburn coaches saw enough to name him the starter shortly after the game.

I think they will be better this year depending on how Cam Newton plays. They are very good at the skill position on offense with Benton, Adams and true frosh Trovon Reed at WR and Fanin, McCalebb and true frosh Michael Dyer at RB. I heard a rumor Fanin is up to 230 lbs. And they probably have the most experienced O-line in the SEC. But I still think they don't score more than 20 against the top defenses in the SEC like Bama, South Carolina, Flordida and LSU.
I just don't see their defense matching up well with the upper tier teams of the SEC mainly because of their D-line. I think they go 8-4 but honestly would not be surprised if they went 10-2 or better.

Not my team, I went to Kentucky. I like their chances of scoring a TON of points with the trio of Newton, Fannin, and Adams. Year 2 under Malzahn will be fun to watch...
