GETTING THIS KIND OF VALUE -3.5 ON ALABAMA IS A GIFT!!! TEXAS HAS NO LEGIT RUNNING GAME AND COLT WILL BE RUNNING FOR HIS LIFE. THIS BAMA D CAN REALLY BRING IT AND THEY COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN THE SEC.
ALSO BAMA IS COMING OFF A BEATING OF ARGUABLY THE BEST TEAM AND PLAYER IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL THE LAST 4 YEARS.
ON OFFENSE YOU GOT THE HEISMAN TROPHY WINNING RB AGAINST A QUICK BUT MUCH SOFTER TEXAS DEFENSE. AND TO BOOT THE BEST WIDEOUT IN THE NATION.(JULIO JONES) THEY JUST HAVE TO MATCH UP SHIPLY AND TEXAS HAS NO WAY TO CONSISTANLY MOVE THE BALL.
ON SPECIAL TEAMS BAMA LIKE ON OFFENSE AND DEFENSE IS LEAPS AND BOUNDS AHEAD OF TEXAS. JAVIER ARENAS IS A GAME CHANGER.
TEXAS HAD TROUBLE WITH A TOUGH DEFENSIVE NEBRASKA TEAM...WELL BAMA IS EVEN BETTER ON DEFENSE AND ACTUALLY HAS AN OFFENSE TO POUND TEXAS INTO SUBMISSION. REMEMBER THE GAME SUI HAD WELL DT TERRENCE CODY ISNT SO BAD HIMSELF IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY..
ALABAMA JUST PLAIN AND SIMPLY OUTMATCHES TEXAS AT EVERY POSITION EXCEPT QB..THIS ONE WONT BE CLOSE BUT DONT SAY I DIDNT TELL YA SO!...DONT OVER THINK THIS ONE!! BAMA -3.5 HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE!!! POY

Agreed with alot of what you said, just a few corrections from my point of view as a Bama homer... Bama is in no way leaps and bounds ahead of Texas on special teams.. Actually it is the other way around overall... Bama has a horrible kickoff and punt coverage team that has givin up a shit load of yards with a few TD's this year... Returners in Javy and Shipley I would call pretty close.. Javy get the advatage but Shipley is not bad at all...BOL

I usually pull for the SEC, but these SEC offenses in the bowl season have been terrible against teams not known for defense...

and is it possible Alabama's D isn't as good as advertised but play no good offenses in the SEC this year? Even Florida's offense was not as good as it has been in the past couple of years. Isn't this the same Alabama team who was known for defense last year and got balled up by Utah from the Mountain West?
Are we all looking at the horrible game Texas played against Nebraska in the Big 12 Title game and thinking there is no way they're going to beat the team that beat Florida? But now Nebraska shut out AZ and Suh is probably going to be the #1 draft choice...maybe McCoy should get a pass after all!
Last time Texas was in the Rose Bowl they were the underdog against a USC team with 2 Heisman Trophy awardees (Leinart and Bush) and we know how that turned out.
We know what Florida's D brings as they have proven it over the past couple of years. Alabama still has something to prove. If they can shut down Texas and win that game then I will be a believer but I think this game is within a FG.

I still believe FLORIDA is the best team in the SEC. If Florida would be in this game at -3.5, I would jump all over it. I don't think McEelroy will play as well as he did on the SEC Championship game. That was the game of his life.
Texas will win, and I'm not just saying that because I'm a Texas fan
Final score: Texas 27 Alabam 17

only a damn fool would have his "POY" on the biggest, most tightly numbered, most watched, game on the board. Are you serious?? I won't even get into a point/counterpoint on who I think will cover and why...I am just too busy laughing about your "POY" status...that is almost as good as going the entire NFL year and then saying the Super Bowl is your "POY"....
PS - HOOK EM HORNS

No Estes, Florida has proven they have one of the best D's in the land 2-3 years consistently and their D has won 2 Nat'l titles. They are the exception.
Va Tech is a better than average D, but their D this year is hard to measure due to the weak offensive teams they've seen i.e. Marshall, Duke, Miami, NC State, UNC, VA, and Maryland.

So you say the SEC in bowl games have had less than stellar offensive showings but you do not take into account Florida's 51 points??Way to leave out a little bit of info to make your point..

Koko, you're not too smart...look at Cincy's defensive stats and games this past year and then tell me Florida wasn't going to put up points on them. I never said Florida's offense was horrible but they aren't this year what they've been in the past.

This is what you said
"but these SEC offenses in the bowl season have been terrible against teams not known for defense..."
Hence why I said what I said... Cincy was not known for defense and UF put up 51 on them, but you left them out of your theory... Not hating or anything, just saying if you make a statement like that you have to look at all games, not just the ones that go with your argument.. Also you left out UGA, who I know played a horrible defense but they should be in your post since you are saying the SEC played teams not known for defense...
