Can you please explain how a hobbled freshman QB is going to be effective against this dominant Texas defense?  Out of curiosity, have you watched either Missouri or Texas play this year? 

While I hate making comparisons from past games, Texas absolutely obliterated this same team last year with some guys named Chase Daniels and Jeremy Maclin. 

I don't mean to be rude or disrespectful in your thread, but you will be burning money taking the ML on Mizzou.  Win or lose, I will be back here following the game Saturday.  You can count on that.  Texas will cover 13.5 too.  Have a nice day!

Jwheels, Texas does indeed have a dominant defense.  I know that may be hard for an SEC homer to believe.

Texas in my mind is the most overrated team in the country, right
behind Florida.  Texas has only played a struggling and beat up
OU team and won by 3.  Texas is 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games.
Their only true road game has been against Wyoming. Truly championship worthy schedule. 

I wouldn't put money on the ML - But I do think this is
a good spot against for the Tigers.

At the same time, I can see a Mizzou upset. Texas may be one of the most overrated teams in the entire Country. This year's Texas team is NOT last year's team. That is rather easy to see.

It's going to be a sad year if Texas and/or Florida get into the National Title game. Neither team deserves it. Both teams have have played cream puff schedules and UF should have lost last week to Arkansas, no thanks to some horrible officiating. Finally the Gators faced a team that had an offense ranked in the Top 50 and we see what happened. Then we have Texas, who has played nobody worthy, as OU wasn't even a road game, and they are going to sneak into the NC Game because, well, the Big 12 is overrated this year. yes, they were awesome last year and got jobbed, but this year is different. At least UF should get worked over by Bama in the SEC Title Game, which may open things up for a legit team.

akuakoi, how can you say Florida is the most overrated team in the country when all they did is win the NC last year and return nearly every starter?  I'm baffled by that comment.  They may have lost a step on offense without Harvin, but their defense will keep them in every game.  Again, I don't know how you can say they're the most overrated team in the country.

Texas has admittedly taken a step back on offense as well.  The loss of Quan Cosby, a younger offensive line, and an inconsistant ground game has taken its toll.  Colt is having to press more to make plays.  But like your USC team, we just reload at Texas.  I don't know why it's so hard for people to believe the Longhorns have an elite defense this year under Will Muschamp.  Coach "Boom" was brought in to do just that, and he has done an excellent job.  He has been tabbed as the head coach in waiting.  For those who may not remember, he was also the defensive coordinator for Nick Saban at LSU.  We all know how that worked out. 

My point is, Texas has the kind of defense that will keep them in games, and the winningest QB in Longhorn history leading the offense.  This team can't help the lighter schedule, but they do just keep on winning regardless.  Texas will win out.  And they will play Florida or Alabama in the Rose Bowl. 

I know you're bitter, but USC should have taken care of a mediocre Washington team, just like we should have taken care of Texas Tech last year.

Ball_Picker, you say it'll be a sad year if Texas and Florida play for the title, and that neither team deserves it.  Out of curiosity, who in your mind would "deserve" to play for the national championship if both of these teams win out?  Should a one-loss Bama team get in over Florida if the Gators beat them in the SEC championship?  Do Cincinnati or Boise State deserve to be in the title game more than Texas or Florida?  How about a one-loss USC team?  Do they deserve it more?  Houston, TCU, Miami, do any of them deserve it more?  Please explain.

I am not bitter about USC losing to WASH. I have said enough on the topic, but SC is a different team with Barkley at the helm. Plus SC schedule is horrid this year. I think #2 most difficult in the country behind Miami.

Florida is vastly overrated- I don't wanna get into the reason or the ways - but I will.  LSU is so overrated is sicking and UF looked terrible in that game and Arkansas was 24 dogs and UF almost dropped that one at home.

I think Texas will play Alabama in the NC game and Alabama will beat the shit out of Texas.

I think Mizzou covers the spread. With exception of T Tech, this will be the best offense that Texas has faced. Yes, they seem to be better than OU's offense at this point in time. Mizzou's defense won't be as stout as OU's defense, but they will put up more points. I also think texas is in a let down spot while being on the road after a red river win. If nothing else, I like Mizzou in the 1H line, as they will come out pumped up and Texas will once again have to rely on a big 2nd half to try and win and also cover this spread.

Based on what I've seen, a few teams could beat Florida and Texas this year. Alabama should handle Florida in the SEC game, and I have no problems with Bama playing in the National Title game if they run the table. As far as Texas, I believe that USC would beat them as they would shut their offense down. I think Miami would also beat Texas, as Miami looks better and has played 4 top 20 teams, and also dominated OU and sat on the ball at the end of the game. I even think that TCU could give Texas a run for their money right now. About the same can be said for Florida. Their defense is good, even though the first offense in the Top 50 just put up 20 points on them in the Swamp. But the big thing is that Florida's offense is NOT very good this year! They cannot do a damn thing but run those dive plays and option plays, then throw in a play action now and again. It's going to cost them when they actually play a ranked team!

The reason I say it's going to be a sad year is because these teams may just get rewarded for some seriously soft schedules if they can run the table. They won't be the best 2 teams in the Country. Oh, I also think Va Tech may be able to step up and beat either team....but only if unpredictable Tyrod Taylor shows up to play. Either way, they are overrated and their easy schedules are sickening.

Ball_Picker, you're avoiding the question.  Who deserves to play in the NC if Texas and Florida win out.  You say neither team deserves it. 

Texas will shut down this Missouri offense just like they did last year.  As I said in a previous thread, Gabbert is going to be a good one, but he's not going to get it done against Texas as a freshman.  Plain and simple.  He's going to be pressured into making some bad decisions and Texas rolls in this one. 

Don't waste your money thinking Texas is in for a let down.  These players are playing for one thing after letting it slip last year.  There will be no let down, and Texas rolls 41-13. 

Alabama vs USC

Okay, I understand you now.  You're basically stating that a one-loss team deserves to play ahead of an undefeated Texas because you believe that a USC, Miami, or Virginia Tech could beat Texas.  Mind-boggling!
