A&M HAS 16 RETURNING STARTERS.
NM HAS 9 AND A NEW HEAD COACH.
 
A BYE WEEK COMING UP FOR A&M.
THINKING THEY WILL BUST THIS GAME WIDE OPEN.
 
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

I love betting on experience in the first week of College football.  Find a team with lots of returning starters vs a team with a few and it is usually a good bet.  Good Luck!

I really like the Aggies this year however I am not ready to lay that much chalk in the first game of the season with a team like A & M.  

However I did include them in a 12 point teaser that includes Colorado and California.

They may lose straight up. If they win it will be by less than 6. They're in a disaray of sorts and have trouble getting up for opening day games, if the past is any indication. MY money will be on NM.

I agree great value on TX A&M here as aggies have much better talent and more experience...also playing at home and in second year of system helps IMO....New Mex changing systems on both sides of ball and personnel does not fit...may be wrong but I see a blowout here to open the season for the Aggies

I grabbed aTm at 13.5 a few weeks ago.  This was one of the games I had circled back in June as a game I would be on.  There is value with TAMU because they only beat this team by 6 last year at their place before losing to Arky St. and barely beating Army.
 
I do expect Tamu to improve and play well in their opener at home against a much more inexperienced team changing up their system.  Players recruited to play in one system having to play in a vastly different one. 
 
As for week 1 Chalk, I would rather lay 14 points than 7.  Look at last year in week 1 where teams giving 13+ points went 14-2 ATS while teams giving 1 to 13 points went 6-7 ATS and lost 7 SU.

Just noticed a  line change on Texas A&M from-14 to -15.
Most people I suspect are looking for a blowout however I feel
good with -14.

I got it at -13.5, but I think opened lower than that.  I really feel like this is a very nice under the radar game.

Anytime a team is returning a bunch of starters from the year before this bodes well especially for an opening game..

Not saying you're wrong but can you tell me why you would trust your money on New Mexico?

Kittsd...I agree. If I were to put the bet in now I would buy one point and get it at -14....I got it at -13.5 and again at -14.

A&M might be in their 2nd year with Sherman, but they have 3 freshman WR's, an inexperienced LB unit, Tannehill will be on the sidelines holding a clipboard, and they don't have a good idea of how to plan for the Lobo's because they (the Lobos) are running all sorts of new schemes.  Sherman didn't sound too confident in his press conference earlier this week, and I don't trust A&M to cover 2 td's.  It is a tough call to trust either of these teams to be honest.

one way of looking at it is for as bad as aTm was last year, they won 28-22 at new mexico, aTm will be improved (slightly), new mexico is definitely getting worse, they're changing systems with players not recruited to play that style

i say big win in front of the 12th man
