Haven't posted lately, but don't want anyone overlooking this game.
I really haven't heard much talk about this game, but this is my favorite play of the day with Rice +3. I live about 10 minutes from both schools so follow them closel?. Houston and Rice both have good records but I feel Rice has played a tougher schedule, going on the road to face Texas and Vand? The Owls also play much better at home. They are 23-5-1 ATS as a home underdog or pick at Rice Stadium. This will be one of biggest games for Rice in years so the stadium should filled. My wife went to Houston so I usually root for the Cougars, but I simply don't see them winning today.
Rice Owls +3
GL today.

I think I might play the under on this one... just cause, you never know... there might actually be a drive that doesnt end in a score... maybe... cmon 78?!?!?!?!?

If the weather is OK, loser hits at least 45 in this one.
Rice ML and OVER - Two team parlay.
Again, weather permitting.

The weather doesn't look to be an issue. I am posting from about 15 minutes away. It has been overcast for 3 days and has never actually rained more than a light sprinkle. When it rains in houston, you can feel it coming.
I agree with a play on Rice. They are the better team here. If houston plays like they did against Marshall, Rice can win by 30.

I also live in Houston and follow both teams. The sports radio interviewed the Rice coach and he was laughing saying that the team that will lose will be the team that does not score on one of their possessions. In other words he is pretty much saying both teams are gonna score every possession and whoever gets a turnover or two or makes a stop is going to win the game.
So I would not take the under.
I hate doing this kind of analysis but they have 5 common opponents: SMU Tulsa Tulane UTEP Marshall
I would throw out SMU Tulane and UTEP cause the results were pretty much the same but Houston destroyed Tulsa and Rice got destroyed by Tulsa. Marshall destroyed Houston and Rice destroyed Marshall.
IMO Houston is a scary scary inconsisitent team. If they want to show up and destroy you they will. Ask Tulsa. Or they can be lackluster and suck really bad in the first half like they always do and storm back and beat you. Or they can just not show up like they did against Marshall. Rice on the other hand just plays a pretty normal game week to week beating the mediocre teams on their schedule.
I hope Rice wins just cause they are a nerd school and always an underdog also they have a beautiful campus, but I would layoff a bet unless it is small one. Stick to the over.

I totally agree with tgarfield on this game. I follow the Cougars closely and they are a Jekyll and Hyde team. They could beat Rice by 30 or win right at the end of the game or not show up and get beat....However, since this is a big game for them I think they'll show up. They have one of the best QB's in the nation who can put tons of points on the board. This really isn't a road game for the Cougars since Rice is located in Houston and neither school has much crowd support.
I take the over and maybe a small bet on Houston. GL
