USC doesn't go to the Rose Bowl, that way the Trojans will get an automatic BCS bid against a team like Florida, Oklahoma or Texas
 
I personally want to see a USC / Florida matchup in a BCS bowl, that would exciting to all college football fans
 
I don't want to see USC play Penn St in the Rose Bowl, that makes for crap TV in my opinion, even though Penn St. would probably give them a hell of a game this year with their balance
 
if Oregon St. can beat Oregon and Bama can upset Florida, then we might get USC vs. Florida

I agree that I want to see USC play a great team and hope it is Florida, but as a Florida alum, I hope that its for the BCS title.  USC v. Florida would be a great game and in my opinion would match the two best teams in the country.

Penn State also hopes Oregon St. beats Oregon.
 
They can beat O-St. again and they can think how good they are, we will hear shit how they are somehow the best team in the country with a fluke lose.
But we all know a USC matchup will not be nice for PSU.

USC is definitely in the Top 5, and any team we played in the top 5 would be a toss up. I agree with Wahoos. As a USC fan I don't want to go to the Rose Bowl again. I am rooting for the Beavers to beat the Ducks as well. Don't get me wrong the Rose Bowl is a great bowl, but I am tired of beating up Big 10 schools. Penn State would be a good game, but I want to see us play a Florida, or a Texas.

Florida should beat Bama... I think we see Florida and Oklahoma in the NC...
 
I agree though , I would love to USC play someone other than Penn ST. ... Someting tells me The Nittany Lions would be a Nice Live Dog catching 6+ vs USC

Going back to 2002 the home team usually wins this game.... Last year the streak was broken but proabbly had more to do with the Oregon QB injury situation.

It's going to be #1 Fla versus #2 OU/Texas, and if Oregon St beats Oregon, we'll have USC/Bama in Sugar and then we'll get Georgia/Ohio St. in the Capital One!  Some great/intriguing SEC matchups.

Rose Bowl officials are praying for an Oregon victory along with FOX or whoever is televising the game. Penn State vs. Oregon State would get horrible ratings. Plus penn State already played and beat the shit out of OSU 45-14 in week 2. Yes OSU has improved but not exactly a dream match-up. I do agree this would be awesome just to have more contoversy with this BCS system. Plus you have Utah and possibly Boise State in the picture.....could make for an interesting BOWL season, probably a real shitty bowl season. To bad Ball State can't sneak in, lol.

could not agree more wahoo.  i really dislike the bcs because i want a playoff so bad...it would be bigger than march madness.  but what drives me more nuts are the horrible matchups we get.  everyone wanted usc vs georgia or oklahoma. 

i'm with you and would love to see a USC vs Oklahoma/Alabama/Florida.

I agree with you, but if the favorites hold true for next week, then it will be a good bowl season.  (and personally I dont care about the rose bowl anyways)

also, if Oregon St. wins, then the chances of Ohio St. being shut out of the BCS would be pretty good which is also a bonus

I don't think Ohio State has a chance of getting into a BCS game unless something crazy happens this weekend,i.e. USC and Oklahoma losing. They will end up in the Gator Bowl or something.

Hollywood, Ohio State WILL be in the BCS if Oregon can knock off Oregon St on Saturday because that will mean USC in Rose Bowl (thus only 1 pac 10 school in BCS), rather than having Oregon St. in Rose and USC in Sugar/Fiesta.  (USC will definitely be chosen over Ohio St. with at large teams in this case)

AND, I seriously doubt the Fiesta or Sugar Bowls would select a team like Utah or Boise St. above Ohio State.

So the bottom line is, IF USC wins and Oregon St. wins this weekend, OSU is in the Capital One Bowl (who gets 2nd selection of Big 10 teams).

The Sugar or Fiesta might not have a choice because Utah is guaranteed a BCS spot. You have Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, USC, Penn State, Florida, possibly Texas Tech (ranked higher than OSU), Utah, ACC champion and Big East champion.
 
If Boise State beats Fresno State and remains ranked ahead of Ohio State I don't know how the BCS comittee can justify Ohio State as an at large bid. Of course the WAC and the Big 10 are on different playing levels but the Big 10 doesn't have much of a leg to stand on with how down the conference is this year.

Imagine what kind of cluster f*ck the BCS would have on their hands if Mizzou was to beat Oklahoma or Texas in the Big 12 championship game!!!

Only two teams from the same conference can play in BCS Bowls.  If Oregon St. wins, Ohio St. is out.  If Oregon St. loses, then it comes down to Ohio St. and Boise St. for the last BCS spot ... I have no idea who would get selected in that scenario.

What would be better would be usc/OU

again Id fade sc bigtime as I believe many of these teams with hogh powered offensees would destroy sc

I'm hurt by the comment of you not liking the Rose Bowl!!! It's the grand daddy of them all for a reason. I'm just biased because of where I live and it is a great place to watch a game and tailgate. But yes lately it's been a little dissapointing or the matchups aren't enticing.....except for that Texas USC game, which was a classic. Quite honestly I wouldn't mind seeing Ohio state get in and play USC again. With Beanie healthy and Prior running the offense I think they hang with SC this time. Let's face it Oklahoma and Florida will most likely be in the championship game. Penn State Oregon State in the Rose Bowl (hopefully). I wouldn't want to see USC against Bama or Texas or Utah. God forbid they have to play the ACC or Big East champ. I'm not an SC fan but as a college football fan give me SC vs. Ohio State on a neutral field and a healthy Buckeye squad. Athletic quarterbacks have given Pete Carrol trouble in the past...well at least Dennis Dixon last year and Vince Young.
