Catching 35 1/2 after a 0-0 1st quarter sure looked promising at Florida...thanks to a pick 6, pick 6, punt return 6, interception, interception, fumble, fumble things quickly got out of hand....Hawaii's 2nd, 3rd, and 4th string QBs were god awful....
Notes:
- OSU just played Hawaii in the final game of 2006 winning 35-32. This is the return game for that game. Hawaii and Oregon State are currently in talks to play each other EVERY year from here on out.
- This is the Battle for Hawaii Part II. I mentioned in the 2006 game that OSU is absolutley raiding Hawaii's recruits. Utah, OSU, BYU, Washington are loaded with Hawaii kids, with OSU winning the last several years....Primary target is a single small high school on the North Shore of Hawaii: Kahuku High School. NFL Networks featured this high school on their show and called this little rural town "NFL Town, USA". This tiny high school is producing 15-20 D-I Players a year, and has more NFL players per capita than ANY school in the US.
- Oregon State has 16 Hawaii Players, and 5 Coaches who either coached at Hawaii or are from Hawaii.
- Hawaii is the only team in college football to play 4 QBs for a minimum of 1 Quarter in the first two games.
- Hawaii's 1st String Douche Bag QB was reinstated last week and will start this week. Tyler Graunke is Arizona high schools all time leading passer. Graunke beat out and was Hawaii's 1st string QB 3 years ago over Colt Brennan.
- Just how good is Graunke? Career 65% 19TDs/7INT/4 Rushing TDs. Hawaii trailed Weber State last week 17-7 at the half and had a TOTAL of 130 yards offense. Graunke started the second half and put up 29 points in a little over 1 qtr and over 300+ yards offense.
My Pick and Reasons Why:
I will stick by my guns in my week one post, Hawaii may have a losing record but will be a winner against the spread, as they may be catching points in a majority of their games....Hawaii is not as bad as people think, especially in light of the terrible 2nd, 3rd, and 4th string QBs that have played.....
- QB Lyle Moevao for Oregon State is scary as shit....prone to make bad decisions: Career 5 TDS/10 Interceptions! 3 of his TDs came in week 1 versus Stanford. I believe Hawaii's defense will force 2+ turnovers this week....
- Familiarity...Like when OSU came to Hawaii as heavy underdogs, it quickly became apparent to all that the talent level of these Hawaii kids and the ex-Hawaii coaches on OSU made this game very close....I think this will be another close game here....
- Douche Tyler Graunke at QB for Hawaii. Unlike Brennan, Graunke has not endeared himself to Hawaii fans with all his off field antics.... However, the team really likes him and has rallied around him. With his fist start since Nevada last year, the team will certainly have more confidence...
This is a medium play again, my concerns are: Hawaii's WRs are idiots, Corvallis is a difficult place to win at, OSU has NOT played at home in 300 days and this is a homecoming of sorts for them.
As always, cap for yourself and good luck in whatever you play.
Hawaii +13 550 to win 500
Lean on the Under.

Very nice write up, as usual! Early on todays 1420 talk show they mentioned that OSU defensive front 7 are newbies and offensively they have 1 threat which is their RB (forgot his name). It was also mentioned that the Hawaii "D" has been playing well and yes, the Florida game was lost on "turnovers" . AND they did shut down Weber in the second half . Your write up persuaded me to play the Warriors on Saturday!
I'm with u on da Warriors! GL bruddah

hawaii on the road used to be scary. the past 2 years have been kind to the warriors on the road. maybe not against the spread but they do get wins. i think with graunke hawaii has a good chance of winning. i don't see this game being a blowout. i'm on the warriors

hawaii on the road is very different from hawaii at home.. hawaii will mostly likely cover most of their games at home and almost none on the road.. not to mention, graunke's status isn't known yet either..

Hawaii played like crap and I was takin points on them. luckily i had MO and USC to eek out small win. Or St. had many weapons like their freshmen rb and the wr Stroughter. They were plenty tuff for our boyz to handle. They will get killed by Fresno and Boise. This week i am likin BYU and maybe GA. wanted Oregon till I found out their qb is out. Utah might be ok except AF is tuff at home in the altitude.
