Well he has never made the playoffs and had one good season in his career. So call it whatever you want. Not to mention he was also in the two worst organizations in baseball afterwards. All the Toronto fans think their team is going to be great because they signed Jose Reyes and two old ass pitchers, oh yeah and Cabrera who took performance enhancing drugs and was too scared to stand in front of his team and apologize.

This team barely won 70 games last year and you could easily make the arguement that they were the worst team in the AL. I would say the Twins were worse, but who gives a shit. Their pitching is horrible, their bullpen is horrible, and their offense is not as good as it should have been. Look at their on base percentage, which we all know shows a lot about a teams offense. Not to mention EE had a great year, which didn't help at all. It will be great betting against them as they will be heavy favorites for no reason.

Oh yeah, now that they got Gibbons that changes everything. Winning the World Series is all about pitching and this team doesnt have pitching. They can also sign Marcum, that won't help them either.

Ya, Jays fans are idiots for being excited about adding a superstar level ss, two good pitchers, and Cabrera who had a .900 ops. What is wrong with you? Of course fans are going to be excited.

Team was .500 before injuries killed them (Bautista, Morrow). Santos missed almost the whole year too and Romero should be better. The question marks are can Bautista bounce back after the wrist injury, and can Edwin come close to last year? Ideally the team would get another starter and a new hitting coach (has a low obp style). Still see them being somewhere around the 90 win range.

You truly are a neandarthal. You have absolutely no ability to think rationally, and just have it out for the Jays. You say the Jays don't have the pitching to win? Name 1 pitcher on Baltimore that would be even a #2 start on any other team in the league? I can say, without a doubt, that Josh Johnson, Brandon Morrow, and Mark Beurlhe are better than any pitcher Baltimore has. If they signed Marcum and Romero returned to form, we can then say that any of the Jays starters 1 through 5 could be the Orioles #1 guy. Old? Johnson is 28 (which is really young for baseball), and Buehrle is 33 and he throws 200+ innings every year, the guys is a work horse.

All I care about is the jays trying to win. Even of they don't win I will stay a fan. Trying is more then any other Toronto franchise And I am happy with gibbons. We could have don't a lot worse. I bought a 40 game flex plan. This year will be the 1st time I have spent money to see a Toronto team in 10 years

Yeah Im an uneducated thug, but I have a degree in Finance/Corporate Management and Im on my way to getting my MBA. All the Canadians are mad at me because I told the truth about their team. The truth hurts. If a team was good the fans wouldnt be mad about what I am saying. I always make people mad on this site because Im right, period. Go back and look at my baseball picks and how many people viewed them. You can say I know nothing about baseball....I wont lose sleep over it.

I am an Oakland A's fan so I know all about staying a fan of a team that doesn't win or spend any money. I'm happy you are a fan and not one of these angry idiots. The difference between me and you is I go to the games regardless who we sign. But I will tell you something, money doesnt always mean winning. You can spend big money on these big names, but winning the AL East and winning in the playoffs has to do with chemistry, good coaching, and pitching.

First of all the trade wasn't horrible.  Whether or not it works only time will tell.  The truth is that the Blue Jays needed to do something to shake things up and make things interesting.  They've constantly touted their prospects over the years and have told fans to be patient, be patient, be patient over and over again.  The fact is that we've been patient long enough.  The Jays have done diddly squat over the last 20 years.  I've grown tired of waiting for the new hot prospect to show up, only for the established player to walk out the door.  It's a revolving door of mediocrity and I'm glad to see the Jays are at least being proactive for a change.

Secondly, Melky.  I don't know if he's washed up and neither do you.  He had one of the best seasons of his career, which unfortunately may or may not have been the result of PED's.  He is coming off of a suspension so this is a bit of a risky signing.  But again, this falls in line with what I said regarding the trade.  The Jays are willing to take a shot for a change.  Shit, they are owned by one the wealthiest corporations in the world so it's about time they stop being such cheapskates.

Thridly, Gibbons.  I dislike that you call him a horrible coach.  He wasn't a horrible coach while he was here but also wasn't anything special either.  I can agree with you on that.  I applaud the fact that he was able to leave with a .500 record considering the teams he was given.  He still has a bit to prove, of course he does, but to call him horrible is simply unfair.  I like his style and I think he's a good fit for this organization.  He seems to care about the game.  Unlike John Farrell who seemed to have force emotion, Gibbons seems to genuinely give a fuck about being a good manager.

I am very suprised that J.P. Ricciardi would even make a trade this risky. He runs things just like Billy Beane, which isn't a bad way to run a team if you ask me. Look at what happened to the A's this year. Ricciardi does have a point by trying to look at his prospects in this matter when he sees if work for the A's. I never liked the Marlins signing all of the players they did because you can't just sign a bunch of players throw them together and except a playoff bound team, it just doesn't work like that. There has to be team chemistry even in baseball. There has to be good young pitching and a solid bullpen. It also sucks that they got rid of Escobar and Hechavarria, who I think is going to be a good player soon enough. I could care less of Jeff Mathis, but at the same time I wouldn't want John Buck over a player that has been with the team who is still young. I don't see a problem with Henderson Alvarez and he had some quality starts for his first year and being on such a shit team last year. On top of that all three prospects they traded away are good prospects they aren't just some bums. I mean, Marlins fans have to be dillusional in a sense because they weren't going anywhere with the players they signed and they needed to rebuild by dumping off their long term contracts. Now, the BlueJays got Jose Reyes, who I believe is the best player they got because he has an extreme amount of talent. He can get on base and score without another hit being made, which I do believe will make their team better. Benafacio is a good addition as well, but we will see what happens with him. He is going to be a starter now, which will be different for him...he only played in 64 games last year (1 home run and 11 RBIs...Eh..). John Buck is shit and I wouldnt want him anywhere near my team, I know he will be on the bench but I wouldnt want him to pinch hit either, ever....ever. I don't like to talk about how much money they spent on Johnson, Buerhle, and Melky because it isn't my money or yours so it doesn't matter....but I would never spend that much to acquire those players. I don't see Johnson turning things around, he reminds me of Lincicum who I had faith in and he failed me. Johnson may be good in the bullpen but as a starter I don't think he will turn it around. His fastball lost velocity and it will get slower and slower as time goes by although I would love to see him well again. Buerhle is a good veteran to have on any team, he is average at this point in his career, probably do the same as he did last year if he doesnt get injured he is 33, not old but gettin there. Melky Cabrera was great last year of course, but if you throw out his best performance and his worst he is around a .270 hitter which is what he probably will be. His defense is great as well, but hopefully he will even hit .270. Anyways, I would not want him on any team after acting like a little box bitch and walking out on his team without addressing them at least. Not a type of person I would want in the clubhouse. I am excited to see how well he does after missing that many games and watching his team win the World Series...pretty hard to stomach, oh yeah and losing the batting title.

Just glad we didn't sign Ozzie as our manager...We already know how that worked out in Miami!

Then to top it off you say that Johnson might be fine in the bullpen but you dont see him turning it around as a starter? Buddy even in a down year last season he still posted a sub 4 ERA with a 3.8 WAR which ranked him 23rd amongst all starters in the league (thats the same WAR that Matt Cain and Anibal Sanchez posted).

Sorry, I don't follow the Toronto BlueJays too much they are a horrible baseball team. Credibility? I post winners on here I could care less what you say because i made a mistake about the GM. I dont have anything against teh BlueJays, they are not going to be a good team next year thats the end of the story.
