As always, I am capping the line, not the matchup. My only goal is to beat the closing number by betting early before the market sets itself. If I do that consistently, I believe I will be profitable. Along with my units I will be tracking CLV (total units I have beaten closing line) and CLV Profit (actual units won or saved by betting early instead of waiting for the closing line).
Well, we couldn't end the season without having another clunker of a day. 0-2, losing with the Cubs -109 and Twins +140.
Today marks the end of the season for me. I do not bet playoffs, so this will be it. There's been some good bets, there's been some bad bets, there's been some winning streaks and the always tough losing streaks. Anyone who primarly bets underdogs knows that those losing streaks are inevitable. But I just want to say it's been a lot of fun this year... once you weed out all the BS that exists on this forum you'll see there are a ton of really good handicappers on this site, and I'd like to think I'm somewhere in that conversion.
Overall, I'm very happy with my season. To go under .500 record wise and still end up over 40 units tells you the value in finding the right underdogs to play. And as I've always stated, my lone goal was to beat the closing number, and I felt I did a great job doing that. All in all, I beat the closing number by an aggreate of 58.06 units and was able to cash in on 24 of those units with winning underdogs that I got extra value on or losing favorites where I saved myself some juice. If I had bet at the closing number rather than the open, my total units would be cut by over 55%! No matter how you handicap, ALWAYS TRY AND GET THE BEST OF THE NUMBER. Those few cents you gain or save may not feel like much, but they all add up, trust me.
I'll still be hanging around these parts... I'm debating whether I should continue posting projected lines for playoffs. If there is an interest in that, please let me know as I don't mind doing them if some people find it of value.
Alright, I really shouldn't be playing any more games. Too much uncertainty, but it's the last day of the season so I needed to have some sort of action. I played the following yesterday night.

Had a bet on the Marlins -122 but that got voided due to Buehrle being scratched.
Let's see if we can close out with a winner.
