#5 Posted: 5/20/2012 9:47:35 AM PITCHING MATCHUP: Marlins RH Josh Johnson (1-3, 5.36 ERA) vs. Indians RH Derek Lowe (6-1, 2.05)
Johnson has turned in consecutive strong outings since getting hit hard at San Diego on May 4. He earned his first win of the season Tuesday against Pittsburgh, allowing two runs on six hits over seven innings. The win was his first since April 19, 2011. Johnson is 6-2 with a 3.38 ERA in 13 interleague starts, but has never faced the Indians.
Lowe looked like his career might be winding down last season in Atlanta, but he has enjoyed a rebirth in Cleveland and owns THE BEST ERA in the American League. He threw his first shutout since 2005 on Tuesday at Minnesota, tossing a six-hitter despite failing to record a strikeout. Lowe had one rocky outing at Seattle on April 18, but he has recorded quality starts in his other six outings for the Indians.
and you want to bet against THE BEST ?? you might be right ,but as I said I think I have the best of it

#8 Posted: 5/20/2012 10:08:49 AM yes not many SO's but can you agree he's perhaps a better pitcher without them?? After all he does have leagues best ERA?? Or doesn't that count ? |

Just woke up. Consider the following: 1.Lowe pitched a complete game last outing( letdown). 2.Marlins batters familiar with him. 3.Indians batters Not familiar with Josh Johnson.
Put them all together and Johnson has a big advantage today. Don't you see that? |
