TRAVEL IS A HUGE FACTOR IN A PREP FOR NEXT GAME OR NOT?
HOME TEAMS ARE MORE RELAXED OR DOESNT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE?
I think it cannot be generalized. It depends on travel distance, time the game finished, does the travel mess with sleep patterns, time zones crossed combined with time of play, how long have they been in one time zone before jumping to a different (body clock takes some adjustment time).
Many factors to consider. But say a team finishes a late night match on the East Coast after having been on the East Coast for more than a week. That team then takes a night flight to the West Coast to play a night game again. That team does not get very much sleep and by the time the game is half way their body clock starts telling them it's time to sleep (since their body clock is 3 hours ahead of local time).
That away team would likely underperform.
But going from BOS to NYY after a game day would not significantly impact performance, imo.
