He SHOULD get NO games
The umpires need to quit acting like 9 year olds who don't get their favorite cereal |

#8 Posted: 5/16/2012 10:49:17 AM i hope he gets less than the umpire who called an obvious ball 4 a srtike because Lawrie had started toward first base after the previous pitch (also a ball )
that umpire clearly caled a player out on strikes just because he was upset for being called out after missing the call on the previous pitch. |

True, but that kind of garbage happens all season long and every week of the season |

#11 Posted: 5/16/2012 10:56:10 AM no you didn't houston Lawrie shouldn't be fined or suspended in my opinion. I saw nothing wrong with what he did. The umpire should be fired |

#13 Posted: 5/16/2012 11:09:33 AM To be fair put yourself in his situation, I think these penalties, fines and suspensions should reflect the umpires just as they do the players. He clearly made not 1 mistake but 2, it was human nature for the player to be upset and he threw his helmet clearly at the floor which took an unfortunate bounce after...If he is suspended I think the Ump should be for the same period of time as well

#14 Posted: 5/16/2012 11:10:14 AM I don't think he was trying to hit the ump. Not at all. |

#15 Posted: 5/16/2012 11:14:31 AM So basically if you go through a fast food drive through and get your order, and your order is wrong, it is ok for you to storm back, throw the food down on the ground in front of the cashier, and start cursing at them at the top of your lungs?
Just because someone doesn't do their job right doesn't give you the excuse to go ape garbage on them. Lawrie could of had a reasonable conversation with him, and then shown the tape to the league. Now he'll get suspended, and the ump who was in the wrong wins again.
Stupid. |

#16 Posted: 5/16/2012 12:12:00 PM I just think the ump's should also serve some time of punishment just like the NBA and NHL and NFL referees should be subjected to the same type of rules and punishment

#17 Posted: 5/16/2012 12:18:05 PM you make a valid point DanTos
but if the worker took your order yesterday and somehow you embarrassed them so they purposefully screwed your order up the next day and pooped in the sack, well you might just want to give that sack back . that ump sent him a message and he sent the ump one back . who acted immature and inappropriate first ? |

Me too. However, the focus now isn't on the bad calls but the bad reaction. I'm sure this ump will tighten it up though from here on out. |
