The Numbers he will draw for people buying season tickets, selling out every night, Jersey and T-shirt sales. If you have a full ball park every night then people buy garbage (food, hats, etc). That is why he got the 240, the Angel can make up that money in season ticket sales in no time.

Remember when Ortiz was going through his terrible slump? Everybody was saying he was DONE, and would never be the same. Now it's a distant memory, and he's (once again) one of the best hitters in baseball. The sun DID rise this morning, it WILL set tonight, and Pujols WILL be the 240 million dollar player we love to see wreaking havoc on the field.

I am sure the front office is already regretting this deal ! Next question... How many if any long term high dollar deals have really paid off for MLB ball clubs ??????
