What does baseball mean to you?

I'm new to the blogging/forum idea, but after reading some of the discussions I have found the ones that most interest me come from true fans of the sports, not just individual teams.  Just curious as to what the game means to you?

Baseball is the best sport on planet Earth.  No time clock.  Every kid should have a Little League experience.  Every father should have the chance to teach the game and pass it along to the next generation.

baseball is everything to me . It's my favorite sport to broadcast. It's a leisurely game. Words can't desribe it for me

Ditto all of the above. Enjoy this forum now because when the season hits you are going to have to weed through a lot of garbage to find anything significant. Sorry, but the worlds largest forum also draws some really off the wall characters.

it is the second best sport on earth...it means the sport to keep me going in the summer...it means more $ in my pocket...it means analyzing stats on a daily basis..it means making a trip down to detroit to see the tigers routinely...it means traveling to other cities to watch other games.

it means beers, peanuts, skoal mint pouches, and an overpriced hot dog that doesnt taste as good as they used to.

I live in France where baseball is not a popular sport but for me is the best sport ever

Its amazing key that there's a handful of us who are in the baseball forum during the winter and come march people who haven't commented on anything all winter will come in and think they know more than us

Those folks are busy being smart in other forums right now.....

I really think there are some very bright people in the baseball forum.....just have to know who they are. They aren't really that hard to spot. There is a temperament that goes with playing this game regularly...

Wow, it sucks to be a Mariner.  They are into Spring Training a full week earlier than any other team.  WAG's are probably bitch'n about that one.

Summer time at Wrigley and Comiskey.

Hot chicks in cutoffs and bikini tops.

Plenty of sunshine left in the day after the game is over.

Baseball is life. From age three when I first picked up a ball the game always had a place in my heart, and I don't think I am capable of loving anything or anyone more than I love this game.

The nastalgia is something that sticks forever. Ill never forget playing catch with my old man in the backyard, never forget my first homerun, first diving catch, first little league championship the smell of a fresh groomed highschool field, the feeling of dominating a game from the mound. Road trips with my buddies to MLB stadiums before drinking age.

These are the things that shaped my life, and ill never be able to stop loving this wonderfully beautiful simplistic yet complicated game.

wow some beautiful comments, baseball is the passion that for some drives you when u run onto that fresh cut grass even tho my hey days are over, theres not another passion that pulles at the heart.. now hope to make money off of that passion this year..lol

Thinking about my boyhood a little these days. Falling in love with Mickey, Willie, Ted and Stan the Man in the 1950's. Learning and playing a game I would stick with as player and coach for over 40 years. All the wonderful people that would be a part of it, including some that are still among my best friends. I have been blessed.
