As a Cardinals fan i am happy they didn't waste 10 years on him. He is the greatest player of my era but a 10 year contract would have killed that team in years 4-10.

Think about it....it makes sense.  Considering his injury history, it's VERY unlikely he plays more than 6-7 years in the field.  And in the NL, that means he sits on the bench.  At least in the AL, he can DH.

Idiotic move by the Angels IMO, but their owner can afford it. For him to get a deal like this, it had to be in the AL.

I thought for sure he would give the Cardinals a discount. That is pretty greedy considering the Cardinals were offering him around $220 mil. and he signs for $30 mil more.

You try passing up on another 40 million.  Can't be that easy.  He already won 2 rings for the Cardinals.  He doesn't owe that organization shit.

That was a rumor.  It was never confirmed they offered him that deal.

  That makes no sense.  Pujols has made around 100 mil in salary in 11 years.  Been the best player in baseball almost every single year.  Don't blame the guy if he wants an extra 30-40 million + being able to DH at the end of his career and to be able to live in LA is pretty fucking sweet.

It's possible Pujols wanted to go to the AL.  Just think of the crap he would get down the road if he stayed in the NL, got injured, and couldn't play in the field.  At least he can DH in the AL.

Drafting him in 25th round and supporting all his other businesses including his shitty restaraunt for 10 years and we deserved to get lied to??  Im fine with it.  Cards did some background checks, he is 34 plus MLB starts GH testing next year.
