*Chris Carpenter Over C.J. Wilson*
In Chris Carpenter’s previous World Series start he pitched 8 shutout innings and won game 3 of the 2006 World Series classic. I am hoping that that game is engraved in his mind tonight and he can put on a repeat performance. Now, when I look at these 2 pitchers I see each of them going in opposite directions. First of all, we have Chris Carpenter who is 4-0 with a 1.76 ERA in his last 6 starts while C.J. Wilson is 0-2 with a posted ERA of 9.19 in his last 3 starts. The right-handed batters should cause a problem to Wilson which will be able to knock him out of the game early. Carpenter has only had one bad outing in the playoffs this year and that was when he was given only 3 days of rest. However, in his other 2 starts he has only given up 3 earned runs. The Cardinals have been playing great baseball at home and have won 12 of their last 16 games at Busch Stadium. I will definitely be backing the team who has gained serious momentum throughout the playoffs, has the better pitcher on the mound, and is playing at home.
Enjoy the game and BOL to everyone on a successful night,
