Hey whats up everyone! We had a decent day yesterday, going 8-4. It would have been a lot better if the Rangers hadn't choked... It not only killed a straight bet, but also a parlay I had with the Phillies. I am still in shock over that game because I had so much confidence in it. Oh well, we cant win them all.
Updates: From now on.. every time I add a live bet. I will be increasing the size of the text, making the text red, AND making the text bold. This will cut down on any confusion.
So... tomorrow, I will actually be working most of the day. I will only be around the forums in the morning/afternoon and right before the last games start. Also, my fiance has been using the computer all day and its already 12:30am, so I wont be doing long write-ups. I have been capping the games from my phone for the past few hours though. Since I wont be around tomorrow much, I will have a smaller number of plays. I don't like having too much action that I cant monitor.
I will be adding a few plays in the morning though, so make sure to check back!
Lastly, I wanted to thank everyone that commented in my thread yesterday. It was great hearing all of your views/opinions on the games. We should definitely keep up the discussions because it will only strengthen all of us as cappers.
On to the plays!
Play of the week!
Boston -1.5 -135
Man oh man am I excited about this play. After having capped this game out, it looks like pure gold!
Boston's bats were once again on fire today, as they lit up the Mariners for 12 runs. While I was watching the game, I was thinking to myself... "My god, this is by far the most potent starting line-ups out right now?!.." Well.... They are in a perfect match-up to continue to let their bats fly on Monday against the Royals with Davies pitching.
Boston is 23-8 in their last 31 home games and 45-17 in their last 62 games over all. They will be sending 10-4 Jon Lester to the mound, who has an ERA of 3.306. Not only is Lester 11-4 in his last 15 starts but he is 4-0 in his last 4 home starts against the Royals.
The Royals are on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. They are only 22-57 in their last 79 road games. They will be sending 1-9 Kyle Davies to the mound. He currently has an ERA of 7.321. Davies has lost 8 consecutive decisions and is also only 1-10 in his last 11 starts as an underdog. For the season Davies has allowed 79 hits and 45 earned runs while striking out 44 in 55.1 innings.
Bottom line... The best bats in the buisness are going to tear Davies apart. Normally I don't like taking negative runlines but I am COMPLETELY comfortable taking this one! Hell I might even put some on the alternate runline of -2.5.
Look for Boston to display their dominance and make some easy money while watching!
Phillidalphia ML
Once again, I will be on Philadelphia during this series. They have completely dominated San Diego, winning 38-14 in the last 52 meetings. They are just a much better team all around and they are beasts at home. At home the Phillies are 50-19 in their last 69 home games, as well as 44-12 in their last 56 as favs -201 or greater.
Philly will have the better pitcher with 9-6 Cliff lee, who has an ERA of 2.826. Opposite Lee will be 8-2 Aaron Harang, who has an ERA of 3.295.
-Phillies are 23-6 in their last 29 games vs. a right-handed starter.
-Padres are 1-10 in their last 11 road games vs. a left-handed starter.
These stats tell us that even though both pitchers have had some success recently.. it is going to be the fact the Phillies do great against right handers and how the Padres do terrible against left handers... that will make this big difference.
Just a few more stats I found useful.
-Padres are 7-17 in their last 24 games vs. a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15.
-Padres are 3-8 in their last 11 games as a road underdog.
-Padres are 4-11 in their last 15 overall.
-Padres are 2-8 in their last 10 games following a loss.
-Phillies are 4-0 in their last 4 games following a win.
-Phillies are 44-19 in their last 63 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
