I think everyone is being a little hard on riggleman. Based on everything the GM said, they weren't gonna pick up his contract anyways, might as well step down now then wait til your team finishes above .500 and you get let go in the offseason because you're not the answer going forward. ![]()
It was clearly one of those I wanna talk about my future as the nats manager, and the GM didnt wanna, so riggleman said if i'm not the guy going forward i'll leave before it gets good.

This is the guy that got fired by the Cubs, of all teams, and then quits the Nats.
He won't be getting a coaching gig quite some time, IMO.
