Now with that being said we need to bring this thread back, so here it is for any and all that was involved.
Kennedy may be the closest thing to a “stud” the D-backs have right now. His progression has been steady if not spectacular and he has turned in 5 consecutive above average performances while Pelfrey has submitted 6 consecutive sub par performances (based on the key factors used in my rankings) It is also possible Pelfrey and/or the Mets are hiding something and a sudden trip to the DL for Pelfrey would not surprise me. The Mets also show a decided dislike for the NL West, at just 10-9 overall and 3-7 on the road. Granted, the D-backs are a step down from road opponents Giants, Padres and Rockies, but conversely the D-backs have gone 6-5 at home versus the Marlins, Braves and Phillies and that ain’t shabby competition either. The D-backs trip home from San Diego gave Kirk Gibson about 5 hours on the bus and plane to chew ass or inspire, as necessary, and since he is no shrinking violet I think we can assume he used every minute of it. Pitching and defense have been the problem for the D-backs, not the offense, and we should see much better from both tonight. The final nail in the coffin is the public. One of my sources shows 6,152 wagers on this game and a whopping 82% are coming in on the Mets. If that is true it takes $6.39 per wager on the D-backs to match $1.28 on the Mets. That is pro and syndicate money and the better side to be on. BOL
