Under 8 (LAD/ARI)
Harren has always been a good June/July pitcher. In 2009 he had 9 straight quality starts starting with his first June start (1.34 era over 9 games). In 2008 that streak was 11 games long and once again it started in June (1.62 era over 11 starts). In 2007 he had a great season from start to finish including June and July, and so on. This is his third start against the Dodgers this season and a chance to get the first win against them. In his last 4 starts against LA he has 41 K's and 7 BB's. His O/U record is 10-1 this season which is amazing for a pitcher who doesn't get a whole lot of run support from his offense and a pitcher who has 76 K's and only 15 BB's on the season. He is long overdue for a low scoring game. He pitched 5 games YTD at home (highest scoring ballpark in the majors), 2 games at Coors Field (we all know everything about that ballpark) and 1 game at CHC when the winds were blowing out (hitters ballpark when that happens). Add one AL rules game to the mixt and you'll see that his schedule hasn't been favorable at all so far this season. J.Ely is pitching very well for the Dodgers recently with a era of 2.18 in last 5 starts, 28 K's vs 3 BB's and no home runs allowed. He is facing a lineup that has more strikeouts than any other team in the Nation and it is not even close. Arizona hitters have 481 strikeouts and the 2nd worst is Toronto with 425 strikeouts.
