This award might be the biggest joke in baseball, they hardly ever get it right. I hate how everything goes into fielding percentage, and range is never considered, of course you won't make a error on a ball you can't get to.

Bingo! This is why I never considered Sean Casey a great fielder when he was with the Tigers. He had this crazy errorless inning streak going but I thought it was bullshit since he was slow as molasses and had zero range.

You are an "extreme homer". To think your top prospects will overtake the Yanks and Red Sox is a funny thought.

For what it's worth...I said he wasn't All-Star calibur. I wasn't going to say he wasn't a GG calibur because I haven't seen his glove. I was wrong about that but I don't think he has many All-Star games ahead of him. Or at least any that he will make on the team without injury. If a 5.40 and a 4.63 ERA and a 7-7 record is what you invisioned...I'm very happy for you.

[/Quote]You have no idea how to look at things in perspective.Tillman was 20 years old. That is phenomenal. He got hit hard because he was not locating his fastball and was leaving it high in the zone. His curve and change up were tremendous and he pitched spectacular at times. Homeruns are what hurt him but thats all from fastball location.Matusz, in his first professional season at age 22, pitched like a seasoned pro. If you take out his 2nd professional start.... He had an ERA 3.85; 7.9 k/9;  and if you look at his last 3 starts, after making adjustments, he had and ERA 2.57 while averaging 7 innings and a 6.5 k/9 with a WHIP of 0.85 and BAA .187.

Call me a homer all you want but Pedoria should have the gold glove for second.  As for Short I think it should of been Andrus regardless of his errors, the kids range was incredible.  First base and Third base can&#x27;t really complain, could of went Youklis or Inge really a toss up.  As for the outfield, is Torrii Hunter a shoe in now? I&#x27;d like to see how his range compares to others, and Franklin Guiterrez on Seattle definitely should be on here.

&#xD;&#xA;His defensive potential is outstanding...but you can&#x27;t go by that. Range means nothing if you have 15 errors(or whatever he had). Inge can make great plays, but he&#x27;s up there in errors too I believe. But the only reason Polanco has a gold glove is because he doesn&#x27;t make mistakes and that&#x27;s basically it. His errorless streak got him this award. As for Jeter...he deserves it. He has had an AMAZING defensive year. Much better than years in recent memory. Cano also had an outstanding defensive season. He can really play but he is so care free that it sometimes costs him. It rarely did this season. He has a cannon(for what it&#x27;s worth) and is great at getting that ball to Jeter for the double play. I remember his 3 errors at Shea a few years back...but he was really good this season. Mauer, Tex, Ichiro, Jones and Buehrle I agree with. I know what Hunter can do, I just didn&#x27;t really see him that much. No sure about Longoria...can&#x27;t really put a finger on anyone who is better than him, but on the other hand, I don&#x27;t really pay attention to his defense. But I guess I can&#x27;t complain really with this list.
