After today's little humiliation of the Cubs, you can almost feel how the Cubs feel about themselves. Surprisingly Martinez did a hell of job, but against a rookie I didn't really expect too much from the Chicago end. This, ladies and gents is what we call a turn around, I mean look at this Phillies team, a team that had struggled in previous series and now are looking to have a four game sweep of Chicago, something they haven't accomplished since 1987. So does that mean there's data that would conflict with what my pick is absolutly not. Listen, this is going to be mechanical okay? This isn't a magic trick, losing teams in general have a losing attitude. You think fan walked out of that stadium thinking "boy, that was amazing... too bad I cant come back tomorrow!" no! fuck that Most of the fans felt let down by their Cubs. The team moral is injured, and pridefully hurt. Now let's talk actual statistics. Cliff Lee might as well have been a early Christmas present wrapped in a bow and put on under the Christmas tree for the Phillies. He, unlike most pitchers with new teams didn't really need anytime to get things warmed up and going. The Phillies acquired Lee (2-0, 1.13 ERA) from Cleveland for four minor leaguers July 29, and the reigning AL Cy Young Award winner has been outstanding with his new club. After giving up one run and four hits in a complete-game 5-1 victory at San Francisco in his Phillies debut July 31, Lee allowed one run and six hits with nine strikeouts in seven innings of a 3-1 win over Colorado last Thursday. Including his final three outings with the Indians, the left-hander has posted a 1.32 ERA in winning his last five starts. This is gonna be Lee's second visit to Wrigley this season after giving up three runs and six hits in seven innings of an 8-7, 10-inning loss for Cleveland on June 19... Well, this an't Cleveland, this is a new story...Chicago has lost four in a row and is trying to get back in the playoff picture after being on top and in control of the NL Central just over a week ago. Now It's almost like "where did we go wrong?" The Cubs were percentage points ahead of St. Louis on Aug. 4 but have lost six of seven to drop four games back of the first-place Cardinals. They also trail the wild-card leading Rockies by four. Chicago's offense has had plenty of opportunities during the skid but has left 44 runners on base. Tomorrow I don't see things being any different especially since Dempster is starting. Ryan Dempster (6-5, 4.04) is going to go out there and try to kick some Phillies ass for Chicago, he has three victories in his last 12 outings. Dempster threw six innings to earn a 6-5 win over Colorado on Saturday his first since July 2 -- but it was hardly a thing of beauty. The right-hander allowed five runs two earned and nine hits while throwing a wild pitch and failing to cover first in time on a potential double play. Phillies penis in Ryan Dempster's face.

Sometimes you just gotta stick to what you know. I know that Pittsburgh has been terrible. I know that Pittsburgh traded away everyone. I know the Pirates haven't won a series on the road since taking three of four against Washington from May 18-21. The Pirates are 10-27 away from PNC Park since then. Washington huh... that's like saying once I beat a three year old riding a tricycle in my Toyota Camery. Negative. Tomorrow Pittsburgh will start Paul Maholm ... let's see what we know about him. After allowing one run and four hits in eight innings of a 2-1, 14-inning win over San Francisco in his first start after the break, Maholm is 0-2 with a 7.13 ERA in his last four. The left-hander gave up four runs and nine hits -- including two homers -- in seven innings of a 6-4 loss to St. Louis on Friday, but did not receive a decision. Maholm was sharp in his first start of the season against the Rockies on May 15, allowing five hits and one walk in seven shutout innings of a 3-1 loss. He wasn't as strong against them on June 21, giving up five runs and eight hits in five innings of a 5-4 defeat at Coors Field. He is 1-3 with a 5.87 ERA in four starts in Colorado. Folks, we dont know Paul, it's okay to take the bitch move and admit that those are some shit-ass numbers. That's how bad they are, that's right. I just used "shit-ass" as an adjective. Do you understand the degree of shittiness? Okay now lets talk about Colorado tomorrow. Marquis has had some problems but I don't think things will phase him that much tomorrow. Marquis seeks his first victory in 3 1/2 weeks when he takes the mound for the Colorado Rockies in the finale of a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. By allowing one run over eight innings in a 6-1 victory over San Diego on July 19, Marquis (12-8, 3.65 ERA) notched his major league-leading 12th win, surpassing the 11 he had in all of 2008 with the Cubbies. Marquis, who was traded from the Cubs to the Rockies (63-51) on Jan. 6, then missed his next start with a blister on his right middle finger, and is 0-2 with a 4.74 ERA in three starts since returning to the rotation. I say tomorrow is Marquis's day to shine, and get things worked back out. While he has been struggling, Marquis was in control against the Pirates on June 19, allowing three runs and eight hits in 8 2/3 innings of a 7-3 victory. He is 4-1 with a 2.77 ERA in his last six starts against Pittsburgh (46-67). Look for Jason Marquis to Rockie it out with his cock in Pirates' mouth!

Oh, so the boys sitting in the "Line Makers" office aren't dumbasses after all, and saw that since the scores in this series have been well high I mean look for yourselves at the niffty little chart I provided. So they decided "hmm maybe we should knock it up .5" Mother fucker, If the line was 13 you better still take the over. and that's not bullshit, that's what has happened, as history shows you. Look the over in this series is 7-1. Out of 8 games there have been 7 overs. and tomorrow with Mike Hampton on the mound facing West I don't see there being that much of a problem. Uggla has been hitting nicely, and Houston isn't exactly a strike out kind of club. There is a better chance of the over hitting then that bitch who gave you head last Saturday night NOT giving you an STD. Shut your mouth, I don't give a fuck if you touched her or not... all it takes is for asain looking hoe to cough on you and BAM! You got SARS on your cock. So I'm going to help you make some money so you can get that taken care of aite homie? the Astros have 28 runs and are batting .317 in this series, not to mention that in today's game Lance Berkman returned from the disabled list and hit two RBI doubles and scored twice in his first game since July 22. Those are all nice and pretty stats, and honestly I love Houston. But Florida is also 7-1 against Houston in three season. The Fish just have Houston's number, and tomorrow with Houston Starting Mike Hampton I'm pretty sure the Marlins are going to take another one, and solidify the series with a W. Mike Hampton (7-9, 5.30 ERA). The left-hander gave up three runs in two innings before leaving with a sprained right knee Saturday, suffering a 12-5 loss to Milwaukee. He got cortisone shots in both knees Sunday in hopes that he'll be able to pitch through pain for the rest of the season, that doesn't sound like the information of a pitcher that you'd trust with your money. If your going to start for the team I have money on you better be mother fucking ready. Florida will start Sean West (3-4, 4.88) in the finale for this series, the rookie left-hander was recalled from the minors to make his first start of the second half Saturday. He gave up three runs in four innings of a 6-4 win over Philadelphia., But don't let this discourage you from the pick. Florida has hitters and they're not scared to score.

The Phillies are only playing three in Chicago before heading to Atlanta this weekend
Still though, I'm on LEE and the PHILS and love the write-up. Good Luck KZ

I don't like the Brewers, they have struggled tremendously, who else is having a hard time against San Diego? Don't touch them, Parra is inconsistent.

who on earth is this guy!? have there been people following him a long time and has he always been full of such shit??
Houston @ Florida -120
yea, that's a pretty good pick, since florida opened at -160 or -165 and is now available for -145 and as good as -140. every day his lines are soo much better than any book or even matchbook, i don't understand why people don't call him out on the lies?
is it because everyone still just thinks of him as the lovable loser and doesn't care about his picks, just hoping for an entertaining writeup while knowing he's terrible??
