I don't get people getting mad at the managers for "stupid" mistakes. When they are managing for the season. They don't give a shit about your or my bet. Tonight LaRussa had to use Wellemeyer and people were flipping out about it. Yeah as soon as I saw him warming up an inning before, I was like holy crap the Cards are going to lose if they bring him in. But people on here were wanting Tony to leave Franklin in after pitching last night and tonight for 1 1/3 innings. I guess you are supposed to pitch a guy until his arm falls off? Or maybe he should have just brought in Chris Carpenter to make sure he didn't lose this game. He has ALOT more games to manage and doesn't want to throw his closer out there every single night. People please learn the game of baseball, if you are going to bet your hard earned money. Take into account if a closer pitched two nights in a row, he won't pitch the third, unless we are in October/November. Keep in mind if a game went 15 innings the night before, that a scrub pitcher will likely be called on to pitch to give the other regular guys rest. Sorry to all the Cardinal fans who lost money, I didn't have money on the game. Good luck.

In some cases maybe, I would say the exceptions are Rivera and Papelbon, like when the Sox and Yankees are playing. Tito will use Papelbon if he needs him. It also depends on the workload the previous 2 days. If they got them 3 up 3 down with a relative low pitchcount then yeah 3 in a row. But it's a little rare.

yeah cause it's all about the money and these guys aren't competitive at all. I mean why didn't they do this last night instead of going 15 innings. I am sure some of them were sleepy or had better things to do then play baseball all night. No need in playing extra innings, not like they get paid overtime pay.
P.S. he pitched 1 and a third tonight and 1 last night. Please read.

The way i see it, He has to give him a chance. they won 3 in a row against contenders. LaRussa has 161 games to not only have a goal to make the playoffs and win a ring but in those 161 games he has to test his players in certain situations. Yes the rest was a bit of the factor but especially in the begining of the year so trade ideas can come up. Plus who ever took Cards pulled the wrong trigger, Dogers was a easy bet tonight.
