Come on brother..what are you smokin? CC is the ACE and will top the rotation followed by AJ and theCMW. CMW won 19 games in consecutive years when he was at the top of the rotation , now he is in the 3 hole and will be matched up against inferior pitchers a whole bunch, how many do you think he wins now? This staff is scary.

Joba has to be slotted in the 5 hole because they have to manage his total innings pitched this year because he only logged 100 last year. The Yanks wont allow an innings spike to one of there young pitchers so by being in the 5 hole he will get skipped often enough to help control his innings, and then someone else will buy his start occasionally. I dont think they will allow him to pass 150 ip so that will take some managing.

joba should be in the pen also i know that cc is the ace but i would put wong #1 he always steps up against the best pitchers and no way hes #3 i guess i agree with joba in the 5 spot but hed be best in the 2 inning role as a set up guy and maybe the closer when rivera shits the bed this year

Do you mean when or if rivera shits the bed? Are you thinking hes going to struggle? Hopefully not but melancon down in aaa could be his replacement. Hes kind of the joba of the minors right now

Why would anyone think Rivera will shit the bed? He was the most dominant closer in the game last year imo, and the shoulder thing is no big deal.Osie is right, Melancon is the one to watch right now. 2 years off TJ surgery, who should have been a call up last year but they didnt want to push him, is definately on the radar as a future closer and 8th inning set up.

i just think joba is a waste of a talent in the 8th inn role. Now id agree on it a bit more if i thought he was the future closer but i really think they are going to give melancon that shot. We saw joba throw that 2 hit shutout against beckett at fenway last year. I really dont want that sitting in the pen

Joba is no waste in the 8th...none at all....if your winning after the 7th inning you prob will win 90% of the time
but its one less quality arm in the starting rotation that they need. Last year ramirez/veras/bruney/coke all performed well leading up to rivera. Thats why i dont think hes needed there. The bullpen may have been there only strength last year
