ATL @ NYR: ATL has a score to settle with the Rangers for kicking them out of the playoffs last season...if only they had the grit to deliver on that one. Leaning toward NYR but they have also have a habit of taking the night off. Life is a gamble and so is this game.
NJ @ PHI: You're joking, right? Drunken monkeys could pick a winner in this one and so can you. Why is the line so close? Charity. Pick PHI.
NYI @ CAR: The back end of the home and home is actually easier in b2b games...for the winner of the first one. NYI couldn't pull out a win with a 2g lead on home ice. Can anyone explain how they're going to win this one? Gonna need a no show from the Canes. I don't see that happening. Pick CAR...again.
BOS @ MTL: Things to remember: 1) water is wet, 2) the sky is blue, 3) MTL doesn't lose to Boston. Pick MTL.
EDM @ TB: Who is this guy Aaron Sorochan and why should I care? This guy is likely the reason TB is a big fave in this game. I've never heard of him nor seen him on the game previews for EDM and my guess is he's going to be in the net tomorrow. The question is: does that matter? TB hasn't been impressive (to say the least) but they might be able to pull of a win against EDM with their new attitude. They've always had the skill but they've been stoiring it in the root cellar next to the pickled pigs feet...until this weekend when they took down PIT (Crosby injured in that one) and OTT (no Alfredsson nor Heatley). I figure even if TB brings it EDM has the chops to knock 'em down. Pick EDM.
OTT @ FLA: Go roll dice in the alley, read tarot cards or the entrails of an owl for this one. I've got nothing.
CBJ @ DAL: Didn't we do this one a couple of days ago? While CBJ could have won they decide to shoot the puck 2feet wide of the open net on multiple occasions. The only difference in this one is DAL might be all fat and happy after beating ANA and taking sole possession of the lead in the Pac div. Don't ask me who shows up for this mess. All I know is -165 is not a good value.
NAS @ COL: While COL should take advantage of NAS exhaustion I couldn't tell you how today's game is going. IT'S NOT ON!!! There is also a VERY good chance COL is preoccupied with their next game v. MIN. I wouldn't hold your breath on COL bringing their "A" game. Leaning toward NAS.
MIN @ CAL: While some might think the second game of the b2b might be a steeper hill to climb than the front end at the least MIN won't be looking forward to anything. After choking hard in their meeting the other day I figure the Wild show up and win this one...especially after the los @ Vancouver tonight. Sorry to tonight's Wild backers. Pick MIN...I think.
DET @ LAK: While LAK has been playing good hockey (for the) of late I don't figure that matters too much in this one. DET has lost the front end of b2b games exactly once this season. While there is a chance they might be looking to exact some vengeance after losing to ANA in the playoffs last season I don't figure this team worries about tomorrow too much. Pick DET.
CHI @ SAN: Sharks SUCK!!!! but not bad enough to lose their 5th straight to a crippled CHI team. Pick SAN.
