From listening to Emerick at beginning of game it sounds like Hossa was injured last game or in practice. Why else would Smith suit up for warmups if Hossa was ready to go prior to them. I've seen it before where an extra skater is dressed for warmups, then the decision is made after warmups on who is going to be scratched. Not 100% sure that's what happened, but kinda feels like it to me.

I have got some Joel Q stories for you guys. He used to come into the local ex NHLer Jim Wiste's watering hole, the infamous Campus Lounge and remember one of my first conversations with him when he played for the original Colorado Rockies back in the late 70's

While trying to hustle him in a game of pool as a punk teenager  I WILL ALWAYS remember him telling me once   "I'm a lover not a fighter" wearing that same damn happy stache' way back then

Safe to say his squads still resemble his persona
