it was amazing how disrespected the bruins were coming into tonight...the amount of pens in 5 predictions i saw was mind boggling
i hate the bruins with all my heart but even i could see this would be a hard fought series
with that said dont just look at the scoreboard tonight...bruins had the puck luck tonight...as good as rask was, couple chances were centimetres away from going in, 2 posts as well..1st bruins goal was a another example of puck luck (not an insult, most teams who win series get puck luck)
crosby will get his calls next game and i expect the pens to bury their chances. if i get the TT at 2.5 i will pound it.
cbc was trying to create drama saying maybe we will see fleury next game...i dont really think vokoun was the problem tonight

Wiggins, I hear ya man. The bounces did go for the Bruins tonight. I just feel Boston does the little things better, where Pit relies on their raw offensive talent.
Boston will not keep the Pens offensively quiet all series, don't know if anyone could. But to go on the road and take the first one will give the Bruins a little cushion.

Syke I don't know if the Bruins out rubbed and out gunned them. I'm from Boston and am a life long B's fan, needles to say I'm happy with the win. I think the Bruins played within themselves and didn't try and make it a shootout with them. The Bruins were able to withstand the early onslaught, the Krejci got the leaker. The Bruins did what they do best. They got the puck out of their zone and into Pits zone.
The Pens then got out of their game, for example Malkin and Crosby at the end of the second.
A win is a win though and ill take it. Probably going to be a long series.

THAT is what I TRIED to tell some of your fellow Bruins fans that didn't like the pregame thread I started. this is a normal Penguins "brain fart" game where they don't score early (and often) and then get frustratrated and confused. seen it many times before and they usually bounce back. Rask basically won the game the 1st period
and the problem is definately NOT Vokoun esp tonight. when the Pens lose it's usually from "no goal support". I just gotta quite betting their OVERS. seem like everytime I bet those Bylsma plays his Russian line of Screwov, Goofov and Take-the-nightov. you won't see Fleury unless TV has a complete "meltdown" game and this was NOT it.

Irrelevant what happened in other series, each is unique in its own way...Preds/Canucks both took Chicago to six games in 2010, but the Shark who were a better team than both of them got swept, they lost 4 close games to the hawks. You just never know...

But it does look like the pens d and goaltending are hurting them as I said when I started this thread a few nights ago. I have a ton of respect for the Pens. Their offensive firepower scares me. Just think they lack in other facets of the game.

Thanks for the kind words LRR, series is still far from over. I expect to see the Pens come out with a more structured style of play for game 3. Going on the road tends to do that for a team, plus it will be good for them to get away from the distractions. The first period of game 3 will be telling IMO.
