Hey guys. Anyone else feeling like going large on the pens tonight? There is no way in hell the Leafs are going to win, or even force OT. No way they can win even if they did go to OT and the shootout. So do you guys hate chalk to the point where you won't go Pens SU for high units?
Right now my books have them at -203 and -210...
Thus far on the board, I see just one person betting the over.
Cheers. |

#2 Posted: 1/23/2013 7:55:20 AM How do you feel about going big on Pen's -1.5 for +140? I feel like they should dominate this game and could definitely win by 2+.. I don't see anyone else saying that though. |

#4 Posted: 1/23/2013 8:16:27 AM I am hesitant to go -1.5. The line is tempting, but though the Leafs have had trouble scoring in the first two games, it appears they are really buying into Carlyle's system.
I know it's only 2 games in, but the Leafs are currently ranked #1 in SA/G at 21.0. MTL and BUF are no PIT, though. However, they might really go into all out checking mode and try to keep it close. They have a couple really nice surprises on the blue line, primarily in Kostka who has come out of nowhere at 27 and is putting up that many minutes of solid D a night. Thus far our perennial dismal PK has looked more competent - again, over just two games though, and lesser opponents.
The blowout possibilities are there with relatively weakish goaltending and facing such a powerhouse. And we've yet to score a 5 on 5 goal. That is a bit concerning to me. Are we going to start against the Pens? This is their home opener, and one team who I think will come out flying instead of being deflated by opening ceremonies. So it might be worth a sprinkle on -1.5.
But for me it's a bit early in the season to feel great about that puckline. But money line seems worth it to me. And I am waiting on the 3-Way number, because I can all but guarantee that the Leafs will not take this game to OT.
Curious to hear from those who feel like paying for this kind of juice is of so little value, when in my mind, it is what you pay for almost a sure thing.

#5 Posted: 1/23/2013 8:28:35 AM Yeah, 3-way opens for me @ Pens 1.76, or -130. I think I am good with that... |

#11 Posted: 1/23/2013 9:23:57 AM Whenever I feel like going large, experience has taught me to back away cause it usually falls flat on my face . That being said I have no feelings for this game. GL with whatever you choose |

#15 Posted: 1/23/2013 10:23:17 AM As much as the penguins seem like they will own. Dont be so ck didn't fat they're going to rape easily. It's hockey and it's a game so anything an happen. Don't just assume that pens are a great time and leafs stand no chance against them |

#17 Posted: 1/23/2013 11:19:52 AM One thing I've learned over the years with the Leafs is never bet them as favorites (ex. Monday) and that as heavy underdogs they always have a chance!

#18 Posted: 1/23/2013 11:36:54 AM They were 3-3 last year. But no Crosby for most, and Crosby is due to break out. The Leafs are one of the best teams in the league that stars can bank on breaking their drought on.....

Let's hope so! I'm a fan of $ so couldn't care less who wins as long as I am on the right side.

#24 Posted: 1/23/2013 12:15:39 PM I don't see a problem for Pits to win by -1.5. I think Crosby wil score tonight and the score will be 5-2 Pitsburgh. |

#25 Posted: 1/23/2013 12:26:06 PM Pittsburgh has been upset plenty of times as a favorite of -200 or more. I made a killing betting against them in the playoffs a couple years back. I think they win tonight but I'm not nearly as confident as you seem to be. With that said, I'm leaning -130 in reg time... |
