It's going to take a lot more than Schenn to get a first overall pick. |

#4 Posted: 6/12/2012 4:14:16 PM Leafs pick 5th this year. Hey, if that offer is really on the table, I'd take it. |

#7 Posted: 6/12/2012 7:05:07 PM unless there is an offer that is too good to be true, i think the russian will be in copper n blue. shenn and a 5th overall for the 1st pick? i dunno maybe. which kid is gonna turn out to be the stud? i don't follow the minors so fucked if i know.
i do know that historically the oilers don't like to draft russians. drafted 10, not many of em worked out. wouldn,t surprise me if they pick him, or trade the pick, if they trade it, it better be a sweet deal. |

#8 Posted: 6/12/2012 7:20:53 PM I don't think the oilers want to take Yakupov or Murray. It makes sense for them to get a D and can move down to 5th spot still draft a good player.
As long as Burke doesn't end up taking another American |

#16 Posted: 6/13/2012 5:50:42 PM Please Leaf fans. Schenn to get Yakupov. REALLY? A defensive dman whose going to give you 5 goals for a first overall? Swapping first round picks and getting Schenn does nothing for the Oilers.

#17 Posted: 6/13/2012 6:01:04 PM Not trying to say Schenn is a bad dman, I'd take him. He is 22 years old but its still a gamble if he can become anything more than a shut down dman, forget about a premiere shut down guy.

#18 Posted: 6/17/2012 11:36:28 AM I think they Draft the best player possible and then work on the D with the remaining cap space.
Maybe draft a goalie if there is a really good one.

IMO, it's Yakupov, Galchenyuk, and Murry for sure. The 4th can probably be debated depending on who you talk to. But I think the top 3 are on a level above the rest. I think the key is where Forsberg goes. |

Don't forget the young studs like Kadri and Colborne. I'm expecting 40 goals a piece this year. And with "the real deal" Reimer backing up Luongo, it's time to get the champagne ready. |
